Things I’m struggling with as a SAHM

Being a mom is HARD and I’m still struggling with finding my groove. Lately these are the hardest parts:

1) Feeding them the same thing over and over again - my kids are both very picky eaters and don’t like trying new things. As much as I want them to try more, I’m sick of making food to just throw it away.

2) Not taking care of myself - I know I’m in an era of life that revolves around my kids constantly but I’m also horrible about taking any time to actually feel like a human and not a mom or a wife

3) Living the same day on repeat - every day is the same thing there’s no change there’s no difference. It’s the same routine over and over and while we now have preschool two days a week it’s still the same routine outside of taking my daughter there.

4) Not feeling like I’m doing enough or that I am enough - I think as a mom we always feel like we’re never enough that our kids could always deserve better. It’s especially hard for me because my children are at two completely different learning skills. My four-year-old was talking sentences at 18 months and my son is barely talking at all at 2 1/2. #strugglingmom #exhaustedmom #momsbattlingmentalillness

You’re doing a great job. There’s no instruction booklet. I always say that comes with life or children. What may work for you? Is to take time out of your day and just freshen up. I know what you’re going through. I went through it. I am 40 years old now I’m just trying to find out who I am as Ashlie and not mom remember the children are happy and they love you and they are grateful for you and don’t feel bad for feeding them the same thing over and over I think for four years straight my son only ate chicken nuggets and mac & cheese, and never touched anything else, but as he got older, he realized he liked more food to eat don’t ever compare your two children either because everybody is different which I know you know that just don’t beat yourself up over it

Unhealthy things I am unlearning as a mom 🌸
Being a good mom is my top priority. 1. Punishing emotions. I will not get my daughter in trouble for yelling at me, crying, or anything else. If you were crying and somebody told you you have no reason to be, or that they’ll give you a reason to cry, how would you feel? Worse? 2. Shaming.
