Home Habits I’m Still Figuring Out In My 20’s!! 💋✨

Even in my 20s, I’m still figuring out home life! And it turns out the little things that you don’t focus on are the hardest to master 😬

Hosting still like a mini art form I’m learning: figuring out the flow of the furniture, how to make the space feel welcoming with floral arrangements, and deciding what food to cook without stressing! 💐

Laundry is another skill in progress! Finding a consistent schedule so it doesn’t pile up and feel overwhelming is taking longer than I thought 🧺

Budgeting is something I’m still adjusting to too, juggling bills and groceries that I never had to before. 💰

Then there’s the little daily habits: like making the bed so the space feels calm, and carving out time to actually cook instead of relying on takeout. However, I’m realizing that adulting isn’t about perfection! It’s about building routines slowly and learning what works 🤍

... Read moreNavigating home habits while in your 20s can feel like an ongoing journey, and I’ve definitely experienced this firsthand. Hosting friends or family isn't just about having people over—it's truly a form of art. I’ve found that rearranging furniture to optimize flow and adding floral arrangements really transform a room into one that feels inviting and warm. When it comes to food, planning simple yet delicious dishes helps reduce stress, so I recommend experimenting with easy recipes that suit your schedule. Laundry used to be a chore I dreaded, mainly because I lacked a consistent schedule. Now, I try to set specific days each week for washing clothes, which prevents piles and keeps the task manageable. It’s a small routine that builds up to big relief. Budgeting felt intimidating at first, especially balancing bills and groceries I’d never managed alone before. Using monthly planners—both digital and physical—has helped me track expenses and meal plans, so I’m spending smarter without feeling deprived. On a daily level, small habits like making the bed every morning make a surprisingly big difference. The calm, put-together feeling it brings sets a positive tone for the day. Additionally, I make an effort to cook at home when possible, which not only saves money but also feels rewarding. Adulting definitely isn’t about perfection; it’s about gradually creating routines that suit your lifestyle and learning to adapt. Over time, these little efforts add up to a more balanced and enjoyable home life.

laundry-i got us a rolling shelf off temu, each shelf holds a basket, i have one basket for each family member. every day I wash the previous day's laundry in the morning, by bedtime I have found 5 mins to switch it and 10 mins to fold and sort it all within my laundry room. on Saturdays each family member puts their basket of clothes away and brings me the basket back.
