Skyline Chili Dip Recipe

Cincinnati chili is known for being beanless, a little sweet, and topped on spaghetti noodles or hotdogs. Today I’m making a single serving dip.

Ingredients:

• Skyline chili (canned)

• Cream cheese

• Cheddar cheese (shredded)

• Hot sauce (optional)

• Chips

Directions:

1. On a plate, spread evenly with cream cheese.

2. Cover with skyline chili.

3. Add a ton of shredded cheddar cheese. Optionally, add hot sauce.

4. Microwave until cheese is melted (or alternatively, heat chili prior to layering and let cheese melt on its own). Enjoy with chips!

Do you make it differently? I’m working on a recipe for homemade copycat skyline chili🤞

... Read moreHey everyone! So glad you’re here checking out my super easy Skyline Chili Dip. While my original recipe is perfect for a quick, single-serving fix, I know many of you are looking to bring this Cincinnati classic to your next party or get-together. Let's dive deeper into making this dip truly unforgettable! First off, for those new to the magic of Cincinnati chili, it’s famously beanless and boasts a unique, slightly sweet, and savory flavor profile. Unlike traditional chili, it's often seasoned with unexpected warm spices like cinnamon, clove, and allspice – a detail that the Skyline Original Chili can perfectly captures. This distinct taste is what makes our Cincinnati Chili Dip incredibly addictive and stand out! Scaling Up for a Crowd & Oven Method: If you're hosting, simply double or triple the ingredients. Instead of microwaving, spread softened cream cheese evenly on the bottom of an oven-safe dish (like an 8x8 or 9x13 inch pan). Layer generously with canned Skyline chili, then completely cover it with shredded cheddar cheese. For those asking about the skyline dip oven temp, I usually bake mine at 350°F (175°C) for about 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly, gloriously melted, and slightly golden. This method offers a fantastic hot dip with a lovely baked cheese crust! Fun Variations to Try: Buffalo Chicken Twist: For a spicy kick, shred cooked chicken, mix it with buffalo sauce, and layer it after the chili. Top with cheese for an amazing Skyline chili buffalo chicken dip fusion! Lighter Option with Greek Yogurt: If you want a tangier profile, try substituting half or all of the cream cheese with plain Greek yogurt for the base. It provides a creamy texture, addressing queries like skyline chili dip with greek yogurt as a healthier alternative. Spice it up: Don't forget the Skyline Chili Hot Sauce! As observed in the OCR, it’s thin, spicy, and reminiscent of Tabasco. A few dashes really wakes up the flavors. You could also sprinkle some finely diced jalapeños before baking for extra kick. Serving It Right & Pro Tips: While tortilla chips are my go-to, this dip is also fantastic with Fritos, pretzel crisps, or even fresh vegetable sticks like bell peppers and celery. For presentation, a sprinkle of chopped green onions or fresh cilantro adds a burst of color and freshness. This dip is versatile and can be prepped ahead – just assemble, cover, and refrigerate. Then, simply pop it in the oven when guests arrive! It’s the ultimate easy appetizer. I hope these extra tips help you enjoy your Skyline Chili Dip even more! It’s such a versatile and delicious appetizer, perfect for game nights or casual get-togethers. I’m still experimenting with my homemade copycat Skyline chili recipe, but for now, this canned chili dip is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. Happy dipping!
