bringing a baby to a concert 10/10 would definitely recommend 🥰

2025/7/2 Edited to

... Read moreMy recent adventure with my 5-month-old at a Dierks Bentley concert made me realize how many questions expecting and new parents have about continuing their passions, especially live music! Before I was navigating gas drops and diaper blowouts with my little bestie, I also wondered about attending concerts while pregnant. For many moms-to-be, the thought of going to a loud, crowded concert can bring up a lot of questions. Is it safe for the baby? Will I be comfortable? The good news is, with a little planning and listening to your body, it's absolutely possible to still enjoy live music during pregnancy. Here’s what I learned and what worked for me: 1. Prioritize Safety & Sound Levels: While your baby is well-cushioned in the womb, extremely loud, sustained noise can potentially be a concern, especially in the later trimesters. My doctor recommended staying further away from the main speakers, particularly at very high-decibel venues. Think about those noise-cancelling headphones not just for a future baby, but for your own comfort if the sound feels overwhelming – it can help reduce your stress too! Being proactive about sound exposure is key. 2. Comfort is Non-Negotiable: Pregnancy brings its own unique set of physical demands. Standing for hours on end is probably not going to be fun. Look for venues with seating options, or consider getting tickets for a section where you can sit down frequently. Hydration is crucial, especially in crowded, warm environments. Forget alcoholic drinks; focus on plenty of water. And don't be afraid to take frequent bathroom breaks – those trips become more common, so choose a spot with easy access to facilities. Oh, and wear the most comfortable shoes you own; your feet will thank you! 3. Navigate Crowds & Exhaustion: Large crowds can be overwhelming and increase the risk of accidental bumps. I always tried to arrive early to find a less dense spot or positioned myself near an exit. Energy levels can fluctuate wildly during pregnancy. If you're feeling tired, it's perfectly okay to leave before the last encore. Listen to your body and don't push yourself. That confidence of a woman that allows you to take on new challenges applies just as much to advocating for your own comfort and well-being while pregnant. 4. Always Consult Your Doctor: This is the most important piece of advice. Every pregnancy is unique, and what's safe and comfortable for one person might not be for another. Always have a chat with your OB-GYN or midwife before making any concert plans. They can provide personalized advice based on your health and pregnancy stage. Ultimately, attending concerts while pregnant can be a wonderful way to continue enjoying your passions and connect with your partner or friends before your family grows. Just like bringing a baby to a concert requires planning and adapting, so does going while pregnant. It's about finding that balance and proving that becoming a mom doesn't mean giving up on the things you love. Adapt, plan, and enjoy the rhythm of life!
