“You’ve changed.”
I know. That was the whole point. 🤍
I outgrew versions of myself I once thought I’d be forever. I learned to choose myself, protect my peace, set boundaries, and stop shrinking just to make other people comfortable.
I’m softer in some ways, stronger in others, and a lot more protective of the life I’ve worked so hard to build.
Not everyone will understand my growth, and that’s okay. It wasn’t for them. It was for me. 🤍
Changing and growing as a person can be one of the most challenging yet rewarding experiences in life. From my own journey, I realized that growth often means letting go of who we once were or who others expected us to be. It’s about recognizing your worth and not shrinking yourself to make others comfortable. This shift can feel scary at first because it challenges familiar patterns and relationships. One key lesson I’ve learned is the importance of protecting your peace. Establishing boundaries isn’t about shutting people out; it’s about creating healthy space that allows you to thrive emotionally and mentally. When I started choosing myself first, I noticed my stress levels went down, and my sense of inner strength increased. Being softer doesn't mean being weak—it means being compassionate with yourself while standing firm in your values. This balance helped me nurture a life I worked hard to build, one where I am fully present and resilient. Not everyone may understand or accept your growth, but that’s okay. Real growth is personal and often misunderstood by those who aren’t on the same path. Embracing this can help you stay grounded and continue evolving on your own terms. Take compliments on your growth, even if they come as surprised remarks like "You’ve changed." That change is a testament to your journey of self-discovery, self-care, and self-empowerment. Remember that every step you take to protect your peace and build your true self is a victory worth celebrating.
