Switchtoggle CSS is a website UI component that users can click to switch between two states (i.e. on-off, light-dark, yes-no) using HTML checkbox in combination with CSS to create beautiful switch-based functionality and without writing JavaScripts.
Working Principles
1.Use Checkbox as the basis:
The toggle switch in CSS is usually generated from a checkbox or < input type = "checkbox" >.
2.Hide Checkbox with CSS:
CSS is used to hide checkbox of checkbox really.
3.Create a new look with CSS:
Then use CSS stylings (e.g.:: before,:: after, label) to create a square or circular shape element that really looks like a switch.
4.Use the state of the Checkbox style control:
Use CSS Pseudo-classes such as: check and Pseudo-elements together with Selectors such as + (Addicted Sibling Combinator) or ~ (General Sibling Combinator) to change the style of the switch (e.g. alternating colors, changing the circle position) when the user clicks on the checkbox label, which will change the state of the checkbox back and forth.

หลายคนเจอคำว่า toggle ในงานเว็บบ่อยมาก เลยขอเสริมจากที่อธิบายหลักการไว้ให้ชัดขึ้นในมุม “ใช้จริง” นะคะ/ครับ ว่า toggle คือการ “สลับสถานะ” ระหว่าง 2 ค่า เช่น เปิด/ปิด, ใช่/ไม่ใช่, dark/light ซึ่งบนหน้าเว็บเรามักทำให้อยู่ในรูป toggle switch (เหมือนสวิตช์เลื่อน) หรือ toggle button (เหมือนปุ่มกดแล้วค้างสถานะ) ความต่างเล็กๆ ที่ช่วยเลือกใช้ให้ถูก - Toggle switch: หน้าตาคล้ายสวิตช์ เหมาะกับการตั้งค่า (settings) เช่น เปิดแจ้งเตือน, เปิดเสียง, เปิดการติดตาม - Toggle button: มักเป็นปุ่มที่เปลี่ยนสี/ข้อความเมื่อกด เหมาะกับการเลือกโหมดหรือฟิลเตอร์ เช่น “แสดงเฉพาะรายการโปรด” ตัวอย่างโครง HTML ที่นิยม (จำง่ายและใช้ได้เสถียร) - ใช้ input type="checkbox" เป็นตัวเก็บสถานะจริง - ใช้ label เป็นตัวที่คลิกได้ และทำเป็นหน้าตาสวิตช์ แนวคิดคือ: คลิกที่ label → checkbox เปลี่ยนเป็น checked/un-checked → CSS ไปเปลี่ยนสไตล์ตามสถานะ ทิป CSS ที่ทำให้ toggle ดูดีขึ้น (และคนชอบพลาด) 1) ซ่อน checkbox แบบยังเข้าถึงได้ (อย่าลบออกจากการเข้าถึง) หลายคนใช้ display:none ทำให้คลิก/โฟกัสด้วยคีย์บอร์ดไม่ได้ แนะนำซ่อนแบบลดการมองเห็นแทน เช่นทำให้มีขนาด 0 หรือใช้ opacity:0 แล้ววางทับ (ขึ้นกับดีไซน์) 2) ทำ animation ให้ลื่น ใส่ transition กับ track และ thumb เช่น transition: .2s; แล้วตอน :checked ค่อยขยับวงกลม (thumb) ด้วย transform: translateX(...) 3) ทำสถานะโฟกัส (สำคัญกับ UX/SEO คุณภาพ) เวลาใช้คีย์บอร์ด tab ควรเห็นเส้นขอบ เช่น input:focus-visible + label { outline: ... } ช่วยให้ใช้งานได้จริง และดูเป็นงานเว็บที่คุณภาพดี 4) รองรับข้อความ/สถานะ บางเคสอยากให้แสดง ON/OFF หรือ ใช่/ไม่ใช่ เพิ่มได้ด้วย pseudo-element เช่น ::before/::after บน label แล้วเปลี่ยน content ตอน checked ตัวอย่างการนำไปใช้ที่คนค้นหาบ่อย: dark mode ถ้าจะทำสลับธีม (dark/light) แบบไม่ใช้ JavaScript จริงๆ ทำได้ระดับหนึ่งด้วย CSS (เช่นเปลี่ยน class ผ่าน :checked แล้วใช้ selector ~ ไปกระทบทั้งหน้า) แต่ถ้าอยาก “จำค่าไว้” ตอนรีเฟรชหน้า ยังไงก็ต้องพึ่ง JS หรือฝั่งเซิร์ฟเวอร์ช่วยเก็บสถานะ สรุปสั้นๆ: toggle switch คือ UI สำหรับสลับ 2 สถานะ และวิธีทำที่นิยมสุดคือ checkbox + label แล้วใช้ :checked คุมสี/ตำแหน่ง ทำให้ได้ switch Toggle สวยๆ ด้วย CSS อย่างเดียว เหมาะมากกับหน้า settings และงานพื้นฐานการเขียนเว็บไซต์
