Night Feeds: Why My Husband Does Not Participate

I know what you’re thinking… But each family dynamic is different and this works for us. ⬇️

I do not work and my husband is able to work from home. He usually stays up later than me so he will feed our son on his first late feed (usually 11:00pm or 12:00am). He then puts him into the bassinet and I feed him any time he wakes until morning. I try to let my husband sleep as much as possible because he needs to be alert for work.

If I woke him up at night for something he’d be more than happy to do it and even tells me to wake him when he sees how little sleep I’ve gotten. Letting him sleep is 100% my choice. He will keep our son in his office and let me nap during the day when I need it.

All in all we have found a good balance and that’s what matters.
