Baby Sensory Toys

We’re not quite at the sensory table stage just yet, but that doesn’t mean we’re skipping out on sensory play.

Right now, I’m focusing on giving my baby a mix of textures and sounds to explore—from soft and crinkly to smooth and colorful. It’s nothing fancy, just things that keep him curious and engaged.

Here are a few of our favorites right now (he’s 10 months):

Sensory Snuggles Dinosaur

This one’s a big hit. It’s soft and cuddly but has so much going on—crinkle feet, ribbon tags, and a little rattle. He loves shaking it and playing with the different textures.

Crinkle Books

We have so many of these. They’re his absolute favorite. He lights up at the sound and flips through them nonstop. Definitely worth having a few around.

Montessori-Inspired Toy

This one’s great for hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. It also introduces color recognition in a simple, hands-on way. I love that it keeps him busy while also helping him learn.

You don’t need a full setup to introduce sensory play, just a few thoughtful pieces can go a long way.

If your little one is exploring, smiling, and discovering the world in their own way, you’re doing just fine, mama.

... Read moreWhen it comes to sensory play for babies, choosing the right toys is essential for development. Sensory toys can help stimulate a baby’s senses, enhancing their cognitive and motor skills. For instance, multi-textured toys like the Sensory Snuggles Dinosaur not only provide tactile stimulation but also promote exploration through sound with crinkle features and rattles. Similarly, crinkle books are fantastic because they engage babies with their delightful sounds and colorful visuals, keeping them entertained and intrigued. Montessori-inspired toys further contribute to developmental learning by introducing concepts like hand-eye coordination and color recognition. These toys are designed with an emphasis on independence and exploratory learning, allowing babies to learn through play. Parents can create a simplified, sensory-rich environment without the need for elaborate setups. Just by incorporating a few thoughtfully chosen items, you can significantly support your baby's learning journey. It's crucial to remember that every child explores, learns, and engages in play differently. As long as your little one is happy and discovering their world, you're on the right track! Make sensory play a seamless part of daily routines for endless exploration opportunities.
