Watermelon Body Scrub 🍉✨
Hey beauties! With summer just around the corner, I've been on a mission to get my skin super soft and glowing, and let me tell you, this DIY watermelon body scrub has become my absolute secret weapon! I stumbled upon the idea of making my own sugar scrub with fresh watermelon notes, and it's been a game-changer for my #summerbod routine. It’s so much more effective and fun than buying store-bought, plus you know exactly what’s going onto your skin. Making your own watermelon sugar scrub is incredibly simple, and the results are just divine. Here's my go-to recipe inspired by my recent pampering session. You'll need: 1 1/4 cups of granulated sugar: This is your main exfoliant. Sugar gently buffs away dead skin cells, leaving your skin incredibly smooth. 1/4 cup of coconut oil (melted if solid): This magic ingredient provides deep hydration and leaves your skin feeling incredibly soft and moisturized, not greasy! 15 drops of watermelon fragrance oil: For that amazing, refreshing watermelon scent that just screams summer! You can adjust this to your liking. 1/2 teaspoon of pink mica powder (optional): This gives your scrub a beautiful, subtle pink hue, making it look extra pretty and luxurious. Totally adds to the spa-like experience! 1 teaspoon of pitaya seeds (optional): These tiny black seeds add a lovely visual pop, mimicking real watermelon seeds, and provide a little extra gentle exfoliation. Here’s how I whip up my own WATERMELON BODY SCRUB: In a medium-sized bowl, combine the 1 1/4c sugar with the melted 1/4c coconut oil. Stir thoroughly until the sugar is evenly coated. Add the 15 drops of watermelon fragrance oil. Mix well to ensure the scent is distributed throughout. If you're using them, now's the time to add the l/2 tsp pink mica and 1 tsp pitaya seeds. Mix everything together until you get a consistent color and the seeds are well dispersed. Transfer your beautiful watermelon body scrub into an airtight jar or container. I love reusing cute glass jars for this! How I use it for the best results: In the shower, after cleansing my body, I take a small amount of the scrub and gently massage it onto my damp skin in circular motions. I pay extra attention to rougher areas like elbows, knees, and heels. The sugar works its magic, and the coconut oil instantly starts smoothing things out. After a few minutes, I rinse it off thoroughly with warm water. You'll instantly feel how incredibly soft and hydrated your skin is! No need for extra moisturizer afterwards, the coconut oil does wonders. This homemade scrub is perfect for getting that smooth, radiant skin, especially before applying self-tanner or just to feel amazing for your #summerbod outings. It’s truly a wonderful way to pamper yourself and embrace the summer vibes. Give it a try – your skin will thank you!
