One of the highlights was how quickly we were seated without any wait time, which instantly set a positive tone for the meal. The server was attentive and knowledgeable, making the ordering process easy and enjoyable. The Spider roll and shrimp tempura roll offered fresh, well-balanced flavors, and were a perfect introduction to the meal. What stood out was the steak hibachi—cooked to perfection with a delicious smoky char that added great depth to the tender beef. The salmon teriyaki box was another winner, pairing beautiful flaky salmon with a sweet and savory glaze and complemented by rice and vegetables. For dessert, the mochi ice cream was a delightful surprise; its chewy, sweet outer layer paired with creamy ice cream inside made for a refreshing end to the meal. The green tea Japanese cheesecake was a creamy, subtly flavored delicacy that contrasted nicely with the richer dishes earlier. The restaurant’s opening hours are convenient, making it accessible for lunch or dinner plans throughout the week. Overall, Newport Tokyo House offers a balanced menu combining classic Japanese dishes with a pleasant atmosphere and excellent customer service, making it a standout choice when craving authentic Japanese cuisine in Rhode Island.
