Things you DON’T need this fall
Everyone nowadays is telling you to buy more, i’ll tell you why you DONT need to buy! especially in this economy…
- Candles: One candle is enough to last most of the season. If it burns out, get another small one! Don’t buy 50 new scents just because they’re on sale.
- Clothes: Refreshing your wardrobe is fun, but with how fast our trend cycle is, it’s impossible to keep up. Instead of buying poor quality items that are only in trend for a few months, try thrifting or getting staple pieces. In reality, you probably already have the clothes to make a cute outfit. Think about what you already own before clicking purchase on that shein cart!
- New makeup: It’s so fun to experiment with makeup, but you only really need 10-20 items for a staple routine. Plus with how quickly they expire, chances are good you won’t use even half the products before throwing it out. Try to use what you have, or experiment with your friends products to see what you like!
- Trendy shoes: Same as before, buying quality staples that’ll last you years is much more economical than the new trendy shoe. Think about what other footwear can look good with your outfit and you’d be surprised! not all pinterest outfits are meant to be copied to a T.
- Bath products: smelling good this season is fun, but it’s so easy to go overboard. find one scent you enjoy to use this fall and limit to just purchasing that one!
None of this is to say you can’t buy new things! refreshing for a new season is fun and often necessary as things get used and worn down. but being mindful of your purchases and how much you’ll benefit from them is key to being happy with minimalism. and hey, i’m guilty. this is for me too!
