Applying shampoo directly to the lengths of your hair can cause dryness and brittleness. Instead, allow the shampoo to run down to cleanse the hair lengths during rinsing. Conversely, conditioner should only be applied to the hair lengths and not the scalp. This helps prevent oiliness and keeps your roots light while ensuring that your hair remains shiny and smooth. For optimal results, let the conditioner sit for 3-5 minutes to allow it to penetrate the hair shafts. These practices can significantly enhance the health and appearance of your hair.

This is actually really great advice! I have curly hair and this is always how I have done it. I do still apply a little conditioner on my scalp because of my curls but I don’t scrub it in to my scalp!
