Kindle Unlimited: Is It Really Worth the Money?

If you’re debating whether or not Kindle Unlimited is worth it, you’ve come to the right place.

Kindle Unlimited is a monthly subscription that gives members free access to millions of titles and audiobooks. It costs $14.99/month and you do not have to have a Prime Membership to get Kindle Unlimited. Likewise, Kindle Unlimited is not included in a Prime Membership.

So what kinds of books can I read on KU?

A lot of indie authors will publish their books on Kindle Unlimited, making them free for users with the monthly subscription. For example, titles include the Chestnut Springs series, Things We Never Got Over, the Twisted Series, and Divine Rivals. However, a lot of popular books like Fourth Wing, ACOTAR, Icebreaker, and Happy Place are not included in Kindle Unlimited.

How many books can I check out at once? Is there a time limit?

You can check out up to 20 Kindle Unlimited books at a time. Since KU is not like a traditional library, you can also keep these books as long as you would like or need. There is no time restriction.

So that leaves the question… is KU really worth the money?

My answer is YES! Kindle Unlimited is definitely worth the money if you like reading eBooks. If you read only two Kindle Unlimited books a month, you are already saving money. Think about it, if you read two of the Edens series books by Devney Perry on KU, you’re saving over $15. If you read more books with Kindle Unlimited, you’re saving even more money.
