WIDER SEATS, COMFORTABLE HEADPHONES AND MORE??🇸🇬✈️

Hey zesties!!

I’ve seen so many people review on SQ business classes but yk while its interesting to see… it’s just not affordable for many 😔 Hence, here’s a more realistic option of the SQ premium economy which you guys can decide whether or not the upgrade is worth for your next flight! ✈️

I flew on the world longest direct flight from SG to JFK (New York) on premium economy so here’s what i got to say about my experience on this 18 hours flight :oo

Firstly, the seats. As compared to economy, the configuration is 2-4-2 / or towards the back of the plane, you can opt for solo seats as well. Apart from blanket and pillow, what stood out for me were definitely the headphones. If you use the SQ economy ones, you know those hurt your ears after wearing for long and it’s honestly low quality. But the premium economy one, WOW. You get a legit headphone and the sound quality is so much better too! 🤭✨ You also get 2 bottled water, a wider arm rest and of course more leg space (As someone standing 170cm, i can stretch my leg out fully). There’s also an additional leg extender but tbh i don’t use that much unless i recline my seat back a lot.

Secondly the food. Significantly better! I could finally book the cook and the options WERE SOOO MUCH MORE. As compared to economy where u can only opt for like 2 options on the spot, book the cook has food like wanton noodle, porridge, nasi lemak, japanese food etc (many cuisines to choose from!) I chose nasi lemak for my lunch and it was SOOO GOOD. Also they change thier menu pretty often as the menu provided when i’m flying there as compared to flying back is totally different 😝😝 If you don’t know, you can request for complimentary cup noodles or snacks on the flight as well hehe

A summary of what’s different :

✅ Leg extender

✅ Wider armrest

✅ Wider compartment to put things

✅ Botted water / storage space

✅ Better Headphones

✅ Extra USB charger near seat

✅ Book the cook option

✅ Better quality food

✅ Wider seat

Overall, if you’re taking a long flight, i would say premium economy is worth the upgrade! the only downside to this is that the armrest cannot be lifted 🥲 I literally had no one in my whole row when i was flying there but i couldn’t lie bc of the huge arm rest blocking :/// Just a disclaimer that for my flight, we could only choose premium economy and there was no economy option (prob due to how long is it) BUTT ngl i got it at a steal at about $1500++ /per pax back and fro with student discounts.

I really took many pics for u so u can better reference whether it’s worth the upgrade or not!! xx

... Read moreFor travelers worried about seat comfort and noise on long flights, Singapore Airlines' premium economy seats offer notable improvements over standard economy. Beyond just a wider seat and more legroom, the inclusion of better noise-canceling headphones truly enhanced my in-flight experience, reducing anxiety especially over turbulence. If you suffer from mild turbulence anxiety, choosing a seat near the wing can help as it typically experiences less movement. Additionally, the premium economy’s enhanced amenities like USB charging ports, a leg extender for extra comfort, and larger storage compartments add convenience for long flights. While the armrest cannot be lifted, opting for a solo seat provides extra space if available. I also valued the "Book the Cook" service which lets you pre-select from various authentic cuisines like nasi lemak or Japanese dishes, a significant upgrade from limited economy choices. Frequent menu updates keep the options fresh. If lounge access or even more exclusive seating is desired, business class offers that, but for a reasonable price and comfort boost, premium economy is a sweet spot, especially for students or budget-conscious travelers who can snag deals, like I did with my student discount. In terms of airlines out of Singapore offering premium economy, Singapore Airlines stands out with these thoughtful upgrades and consistent service quality. For those comparing with offerings like KLM or other carriers, comfort and service can vary, but SQ’s headphones and extra space were major plusses for me. Overall, this upgrade is well worth considering for your next long haul flight! Remember to check if your flight’s aircraft offers solo seats if preferred, and always bring along your favorite noise-canceling earplugs or headphones if you want to maximize your comfort during any turbulence or noisy periods.
