The shrine, whose deity is the mythical White Rabbit of Inaba, is a god of love that celebrates the marriage between Okuninushi no Mikoto and Yakamihime, the beautiful woman of Inaba. The ema from Love Yamagata Station to Hakuto Shrine is popular for its double effect of love fulfillment. There is also a bell on top of the monument.

恋山形駅は「ピンク駅舎を見たい！」って目的だけでも大満足できる場所でした。駅に近づくと、駅舎だけじゃなく階段や手すり、地面の“恋ロード”までピンクで統一されていて、想像以上に徹底してます。写真はどこを切り取っても可愛くなるので、ピンク好き・映え旅の人にはかなり刺さると思います。 私が行って一番テンションが上がったのは、ピンクの「恋ポスト」。そばに「恋の手紙届けます」みたいな案内があって、旅先から手紙を出すだけでイベント感が出ます。回収日は毎週月曜日と書かれていたので、確実に“このポストから出したい”人は、日程に余裕を持って投函すると安心。宛先に届く郵便物にはハート型の特製スタンプが押されるらしく、受け取る側も嬉しいやつです。 もうひとつの名物が「恋絵馬」。ハート型の木製で、グッズ案内を見ると500円（税込）。ただし現地では販売していない（無人駅のため）ので、行く前にネットで買っておくのがポイントです。現地で絵馬掛けに掛けるのも良いし、郵送でお願いして掛けてもらう方法もあるので、遠方でなかなか行けない人でも参加できるのが良いなと思いました。 ピンク駅舎をきれいに撮りたいなら、駅舎の正面だけじゃなく、ホーム側から駅全体を入れるのもおすすめ。人が少ない時間帯だと“無人駅の静けさ×ピンク”のギャップも写って、恋山形駅らしさが出ます。恋ポストのアップ（ハート装飾）も外せません。 最後に、恋愛成就狙いなら「恋ポストで手紙」「恋絵馬でお願い」をセットにすると旅の思い出が濃くなります。ピンク駅舎を見るだけで終わらせず、駅の“恋の仕掛け”まで体験すると満足度が一段上がりました。
