私が行く前にいちばん気になっていたのが、「天安河原の石積みって、そもそもどういう意味？やっても大丈夫？縁起が悪いって本当？」という点でした。現地を歩いてみると、洞窟の中は想像以上に“石の願い”で埋め尽くされていて、やり方を間違えると迷惑になりそう…と感じたので、これから行く人向けに補足します。 まず、天安河原の石積みは“占い”というより、参拝の延長として「願いを込めて石を静かに積む」行為に近い印象でした。洞窟は注連縄が張られていて空気がひんやり、川と森の音も相まってかなり神秘的。だからこそ、写真を撮るより先に一礼してから入ると気持ちが整います。 次に大事なのが石の準備。洞窟内や周辺の石は、すでに誰かの願いが乗っている可能性が高いので、私は向かう途中で小さめの石を3つ拾ってポケットに入れて行きました（重いと手が疲れるので“積めるサイズ”が正解）。現地は本当に積み石だらけで、逆に「ちょうどいい石を探す」のが難しいくらい。持参しておくと焦りません。 積む数は、よく言われる3・5・7個のどれかにしました。私の場合は3個。理由はシンプルで、洞窟内は人も多く、長時間その場を占有したくなかったからです。積む場所は“通路の脇の崩れにくい所”を選んで、先にある石を蹴らないよう足元をかなり注意しました。少しでも触れるとガラっと崩れそうな山もあるので、リュックの横幅にも注意です。 「石を積むのは縁起が悪い？」については、少なくとも現地では“やってはいけない”空気は感じませんでした。ただ、縁起云々よりもマナーの方が大切で、(1)他人の石を動かさない、(2)通路をふさがない、(3)無理に高く積まない（崩れて危ない）を守れば安心だと思います。願い事も声に出さず、心の中でそっと。 回り方は、天岩戸神社の参道と森の雰囲気も含めて「西本宮→天安河原→東本宮」が歩きやすかったです。西本宮で参拝して気持ちを整えてから洞窟へ行くと、“神話の舞台を辿っている感”が増して、同じ徒歩10分でも体感が全然違いました。時間に余裕があれば、帰りは深呼吸しながら参道をゆっくり歩くのがおすすめです。
