Brunch at a café that doesnt feel like SG 🫢
I rarely ever pop on over to #Tampines but a friend raved about this magical glasshouse set among greenery and I knew I had to go!!
Around Cafe is the tenant within this quaint little glasshouse just outside Alps Residences, serving delicious waffles and a modest menu of brunch food. They just reopened after some renovations, and the ambience was great!
We visited on a rainy Saturday afternoon and it wasn’t packed at all. The light rain also made the interior of the cafe superrrr dreamy and aesthetic - if it could get even more so!
Here’s what we ordered:
🥐 Smoked Salmon Croissant
• Delicious side salad! I inhaled it all
• Croissant was not too bad, the smoked salmon and cream cheese combo was decent. Nothing too mindblowing but a good hearty meal for sure.
🍨 Double Scoop Ice Cream Waffle
• THIS! WAFFLE!!! I saw some old reviews saying their waffles were poorly done but that was definitely not my case!! The waffle was crisp and beautifully done, and the inner part was still light and fluffy. They’d dusted some cookie crumbs (?) over the whole waffle, which gave it an additional crunch.
• Ice cream flavours were pretty good too, although just a taddddd sweet for my taste. We got the Salted Caramel Butter (get this!!!) and the Hazelnut/Ferrero one (because we r basic).
Food came quick, and the wait staff kept coming to update us abt the food, and for our feedback. Overall a great experience and I would go again!! It’s perhaps just a litttttle difficult to get to, but if you’re nearby you should definitely pop in for a try!

What I really loved—and would highly recommend—was their double scoop ice cream waffle. The waffle was just right: crisp on the outside with a fluffy center, enhanced by cookie crumbs that added an unexpected crunch. The salted caramel butter ice cream was my favorite, offering a smooth, rich flavor that complemented the waffle perfectly. Getting to the café can be a bit tricky if you’re unfamiliar with the area, as it’s located just outside the Alps Residences. However, the nearest MRT is Tampines West, making it accessible by public transport with a short walk. The café’s extended hours until late at night also make it a great spot for late brunch or even a casual dinner. As someone who appreciates cafes that don’t feel like the usual city hustle, Around Cafe gave me that refreshing, relaxed vibe that many of us seek during brunch outings. It’s a hidden gem in Tampines deserving of more visits, especially if you enjoy a calm, aesthetic atmosphere paired with good food. Whether you’re craving waffles, a light croissant meal, or just a cozy place to unwind, I’d say give this glasshouse café a try.
