うちの子が中学生になってから強く感じるのが、「思春期って、体の変化が急に来る」ということ。試合で走り続ける姿を見ても、数か月前と体つきが違ったり、食べる量や寝る時間が変わったりして、親のほうが戸惑う瞬間があります。 特に検索でも多い「子供の思春期」は、心の揺れと体の成長がセットで来るのがやっかい。うちの息子も、普段は口数が減ったのに、部活の話だけは急に熱くなったりして、気分の波を感じます。そんな時に私が意識しているのは、“詮索しすぎず、でも見てるよ”の距離感。試合の日に「頑張れ息子」って一言だけ伝えたら、それ以上は何も言わなくても、帰り道の空気が少し柔らかくなった気がしました。 そして「小学校 高学年 女子 体」という悩みも多いですが、女の子は男子より早めに変化が始まることが多いので、家族の理解があるだけで安心材料になると思います。実際、友人の話では高学年の頃から胸のふくらみや体型の変化、月経の始まりで悩んだり、体育や着替えがストレスになる子もいるそう。家でできる工夫としては、 ・体の変化は“恥ずかしいことじゃない”と前提を伝える ・下着（スポーツブラ等）や生理用品は、本人が選びやすい環境にする ・食事は「痩せたい」より「動ける体」を軸にする（タンパク質＋鉄分＋睡眠） ・話したくない日は無理に聞かず、必要な情報だけ渡す（本やサイト、保健の資料など） 部活をしている子だと、成長期の体は本当に繊細で、疲れやすさや食欲の増減も出やすいです。うちも夏場は汗で体力を持っていかれるので、試合前後は水分＋塩分を意識して、帰宅後は「まず休憩→軽く食べる→入浴→早寝」の流れを作るようにしています。 思春期って、正解が見えにくいけど、子どもが頑張っている“今”を信じて見守るのが一番の応援なのかも。接戦のスコア（70対66）みたいに、毎日ギリギリのところで踏ん張っている子もいるはず。親も一緒に焦らず、少しずつ慣れていきたいですね。
