หลายคนเสิร์ชหา “เสี่ยวหลงเปา ร้านไหนอร่อย/ใกล้ฉัน” เราว่า Din Tai Fung ยังเป็นตัวเลือกที่พาไปกินกับครอบครัวได้แบบชัวร์ๆ เพราะรสชาติค่อนข้างมาตรฐาน และที่เราชอบคือหน้าร้านมักจะเห็นครัวทำเสี่ยวหลงเปาแบบสดๆ ในกระจกใส ดูแล้วหิวกว่าเดิมอีก ถ้าใครสงสัยเรื่อง “น้ำจิ้มเสี่ยวหลงเปา” ที่ร้านจะมีน้ำจิ๊กโฉ่ว (น้ำส้มดำจีน) กับขิงซอยละเอียด เรากินแล้วรู้สึกว่าคู่นี้ช่วยตัดเลี่ยนได้ดีมาก โดยเฉพาะตอนกินลูกที่น้ำซุปเยอะๆ วิธีที่เราทำคือแตะจิ๊กโฉ่วเบาๆ แล้วคีบขิงซอยมาวางบนเสี่ยวหลงเปาอีกที ไม่จุ่มนานเพราะกลิ่นจิ๊กโฉ่วแรงไปจะกลบรสน้ำซุปด้านใน ทริคกินเสี่ยวหลงเปาให้ไม่ลวกปาก (และไม่ทำน้ำซุปหาย) ที่เราใช้บ่อยๆ: 1) คีบขึ้นมาวางบนช้อนก่อน เพราะซุปจะไหลลงช้อนทันที 2) ใช้ตะเกียบแง้มแป้งนิดเดียวให้ไอน้ำออก แล้วค่อยซดซุปจากช้อน 3) ค่อยกัดกินทั้งคำ จะได้ทั้งแป้งเหนียวนุ่มกับไส้หมูสับพร้อมซุปแบบเต็มๆ อีกคำถามที่เจอบ่อยคือ “เสี่ยวหลงเปาแบบถ้วย/เสี่ยวหลงเปาในถ้วย/เสี่ยวหลงเปาถ้วย” ส่วนตัวเราเข้าใจว่าเป็นการตามหาซุปเกี๊ยว/เสี่ยวหลงเปาที่เสิร์ฟพร้อมน้ำซุปในภาชนะ หรือเมนูที่กินง่ายไม่ต้องคีบจากเข่งไม้ไผ่ แต่ถ้าตั้งใจมากินเสี่ยวหลงเปาแท้ๆ แบบเข่ง เราว่าความฟินมันอยู่ที่ตอนเปิดฝาแล้วเห็นควันขึ้น กับแป้งที่ห่อซุปไว้ด้านในนี่แหละ ถ้าอยากสั่งให้คุ้ม เราแนะนำเริ่มจากเสี่ยวหลงเปาหมู (ส่วนใหญ่คนจะเลือก 8 ลูกเพราะคุ้มกว่า) แล้วตามด้วยเสี่ยวหลงเปาไส้เผือกเป็นของหวานปิดท้าย ตัวเผือกคือเนียน หอม และหวานกำลังดี กินร้อนๆ แล้วละมุนมาก สำหรับคนที่หา “ร้านเสี่ยวหลงเปา ใกล้ฉัน” ในกรุงเทพ ร้านนี้มีหลายสาขา เช่น Eight Thonglor, CentralWorld, Central Embassy และ Central Plaza Ladprao แนะนำเช็กช่วงเวลาพีคก่อนออกไป เพราะบางวันคนเยอะมาก ถ้าเลี่ยงมื้อเที่ยง/เย็นได้จะนั่งสบายขึ้นเยอะ
