Home Heaven

Added houses to the newest home heaven today 🥰

My heart breaks for all those affected by the LA fires. Let me share with you “home heaven” many good homes are making their ascent there this week.

Coping with disasters like this is why I paint “home heavens”. Hurricane Ida destroyed my hometown and I longed for a place where our homes still existed as I remember 🩷 I hope that when you miss your home you can imagine it in a place where it is safe and still as you remember.

All homes go to heaven. The homes we lose in natural disasters, and the homes we lose to time. The homes that are no longer home because of those we lost. I’m creating a place for them all above the storm clouds, in the sunshine, full of love.

Many artists, like Hanna Lemoine, channel their emotions into creative expressions that commemorate lost homes while also serving as a source of comfort for those grieving their losses. The paintings often depict idealized versions of homes, capturing their beauty and essence, allowing viewers to reconnect with their cherished memories. Through art, individuals can find solace and hope, imagining a safe place where their homes still exist, free from the impact of calamity. These artworks not only preserve memories for those affected but also promote a sense of community in resilience and recovery. By exploring themes of love, safety, and nostalgia, artists play a crucial role in helping society process grief and move towards healing. If you're looking to create your own 'home heaven' in your artistic journey, consider incorporating elements that resonate with your experiences, whether through vibrant colors that evoke joy or soft hues that reflect sadness. Engage with your own memories and emotions to create a space that feels safe and comforting, much like Hanna's vision of homes 'above the storm clouds, in the sunshine.'

This is such a sweet and comforting sentiment. I’ve been thinking a lot about family, home and comfort as I age. This idea brings me a level of peace and acceptance. Thank you for existing and sharing your thoughts. 💕
