Lear Japanese with kakashi

🥷this is a part of training

2025/1/13 Edited to

... Read moreHey everyone! 👋 As someone who's always admired the intricate details and serene beauty of Japanese art, I decided to embark on my own drawing journey, and it's been such a rewarding 'training' experience! When I first started looking into Japanese drawing, I quickly realized it's so much more than just manga and anime – though those are fantastic too! There's a rich history and diverse range of styles that can truly inspire your creative side. For beginners like myself, getting started might seem a bit daunting, but trust me, it's all about taking that first step and enjoying the process. My personal journey began with just a few basic supplies: a pencil, some paper, and a desire to learn. I found that understanding the core elements of Japanese aesthetics – like simplicity, balance, and a connection to nature – really helped me appreciate and try to emulate the art form. Getting Started with Japanese Drawing: My Simple Tips Start Simple with Line Art: Many traditional Japanese drawings, like Ukiyo-e, rely heavily on strong, expressive lines. I found it helpful to practice basic strokes and try to achieve smooth, continuous lines. Don't worry about perfection; focus on fluidity and control. You can even try tracing some famous Japanese artworks to get a feel for their line work. Explore Different Styles: Don't limit yourself! While many people think of manga, there's also Sumi-e (ink wash painting), which is incredibly meditative, or the vibrant woodblock prints of Ukiyo-e. I personally love trying to capture the essence of nature scenes in a minimalist Sumi-e style. It’s a wonderful way to express emotion with just a few brushstrokes. Basic Tools are Enough: You don't need a fancy art studio. For traditional styles, a simple brush, ink (or even watercolors), and paper are all you need. For manga, a fine-liner pen, pencil, and eraser are perfect. I often just sketch with a pencil and then go over it with a black pen to get that classic 'inked' look. Study Reference Images: Look at lots of Japanese art! Pinterest, art books, and online galleries are great resources. Pay attention to how artists depict clothing, landscapes, expressions, and even everyday objects. Notice the flow, the composition, and the color palettes used. This isn't about copying exactly, but about understanding the aesthetics. Practice Drawing Japanese Motifs: Try drawing iconic elements like cherry blossoms, bamboo, koi fish, traditional kimonos, or even serene temples. These motifs often have a stylized way of being depicted, and practicing them can give you a better grasp of the art style. Don't Be Afraid to Experiment: My biggest takeaway is to just have fun with it! It's your art. Combine elements you love, try different mediums, and develop your own style. Sometimes my 'training' involves just doodling random Japanese-inspired characters or scenes, and it's always a joy. Remember, drawing is a skill that improves with consistent practice. Don't get discouraged if your first attempts don't look exactly how you imagined. Every stroke is a step forward in your artistic journey. Keep drawing, keep exploring, and most importantly, keep enjoying the beautiful world of Japanese art!
