Hey beauties! So many of you loved my recent fall makeup look, and I'm just thrilled! Autumn is my absolute favorite season for makeup because of all the rich, warm colors. It’s not just about changing your wardrobe; your makeup routine deserves a cozy fall update too! I often get asked how I get that perfect autumnal glow, so I wanted to dive a bit deeper into my go-to autumn makeup approach and share some tips I’ve picked up over the years. When I'm planning my autumn makeup, I always think about those beautiful fall leaves – the deep reds, burnt oranges, golden yellows, and rich browns. These are my staple eyeshadow shades. For my eyes, I usually reach for a palette with gorgeous terracotta browns, deep cranberry, or even a shimmery gold. I love starting with a matte transition shade in my crease, then deepening the outer V with a rich plum or chocolate brown. A touch of shimmery gold or bronze on the lid really makes the look pop, especially when paired with a sharp winged liner – optional, but I love the drama! And don't forget to smudge a little of that deeper shade along your lower lash line for a cohesive look. Moving onto cheeks, I swap out my summer peaches for deeper berry or terracotta blushes. A little goes a long way to give you that healthy, flushed look, like you've just come in from a crisp autumn walk. For a beautiful glow that complements the season, I opt for a subtle, warm-toned highlighter on the high points of my cheekbones, brow bone, and cupid's bow. It adds a touch of radiance without looking too frosty for the cooler months. Oh, and lips! This is where autumn really shines for me. I adore a good matte lipstick in a deep berry, a classic true red, or even a warm nude that complements the overall look. If you're feeling adventurous, a deep burgundy or plum can be absolutely stunning. The key is to find a shade that makes you feel confident and cozy. I always make sure my lips are well-exfoliated and hydrated before applying these deeper shades to ensure a smooth, long-lasting finish. As the weather gets cooler, my skin tends to get a bit drier, so I switch to more hydrating foundations. I still love a natural finish, but I might opt for something with a bit more coverage than my summer go-to. Prepping your skin with a good moisturizer and a hydrating primer is crucial for a smooth canvas and for your makeup to last all day. My biggest tip for embracing autumn makeup is to experiment! Don't be afraid to try new colors or finishes. It's all about finding what makes you feel beautiful and embracing the cozy vibes of the season.
