Tips for a good walk/ run ! 🏃🏻‍♀️‍➡️🎵

I’ve always kind of hated running or walking just because. But! I’ve found some things to keep me motivated!

1. Wear something cute when you go. You’re more likely to go if you feel good about yourself.

2. Pick areas that either you like, never explored, or somewhere that holds memories. I’ve done trails near by, gone by old parks and schools I used to be at, and gone through neighbourhoods nearby that I’ve never seen.🌵

3. Have something that counts how far you’ve gone. When I see it, I feel more motivated to keep going.

4. Do something fun while you go! I’ve been doing geocaching recently and it makes me enjoy going further!

5. Listen to good music that keeps you energised!! Don’t listen to slow, sad music (it’ll kill your vibe)

6. Use walking as a way to deal with anxiety! I started walking because I needed another way to exert my bad energy and it is totally helpful!

7. Don’t go during the hot parts of the day. Either go in the morning or before the sun goes down, it’ll be nice and cool.☀️

8. Stay hydrated!! You don’t have to carry a water bottle with you but make sure you drink before and after.

9. Make a personal goal and start small!! If you start with a big goal such as “I wanna walk a 5k”, you’re probably never gonna do it. Have a goal of walking like .5 or 1 mile a day, or set an amount you want to do a week.

10. Do a cycle of walking and running. Start with walking, it’ll help your lungs get ready. After you’ve warmed up with it, then set a spot ahead for you to run to and go!! Then walk for a while again and repeat! You’ll feel much more successful.✨

Walking/ running doesn’t have to be boring or too much! Make it work for you:) 🤍

To make your journey more engaging, consider exploring new trails or parks that hold memories. This not only diversifies your route but also enhances your overall experience, making workouts feel less monotonous. Using technology, such as fitness tracking apps, can provide tangible motivation. Seeing the distance you've covered can encourage you to push further and achieve personal goals. For those dealing with anxiety or stress, incorporating walking as a method of release can be incredibly beneficial. It enables a healthy outlet for pent-up energy and emotions. Be mindful of weather conditions; aim for cooler times of the day to avoid overheating. Staying hydrated is crucial; always ensure you're drinking enough water before and after your walks or runs to keep your body functioning optimally. Lastly, starting with small, achievable goals can set you up for long-term success. Trying a cycle of walking and jogging enables your body to adapt gradually, leading to improved stamina and confidence over time. Love these tips! Three things really helped me walk more 1. Setting a routine of going once in the morning and a longer one at 7pm both with my pup 2. Audiobooks seem to distract me and not make me count the minutes 3. Going with a family member or friend at night changes it up and makes it more fun for me!
