Mafia romance is rapidly becoming one of my favorites. This is an action packed novel full of touch her and you die, who fell first, and you’re my everything. I love Alina, with my whole heart. She has lived a broken, thrown away existence by her father. So when she gets traded to the Don of the mafia by her father, she can’t decide if a quick death would be better, but realizes she might not actually want to die.
Rafael, is our anti-hero, mafia Don, know as The Devil. But when the devil receives the woman he didn’t expect he ends up with a whole lot more than he bargained for.
Their chemistry is electric. She unravels the devil and he makes her stronger, not in the way most think, because she’s is stubborn and not afraid to fight for people she loves. He makes her stronger because for the first time she feels loved, safe and at home in her own life.
I can’t wait to read book two.

What I found particularly compelling was how the story subverts typical mafia romance tropes. Instead of a one-dimensional villain, Rafael is portrayed with depth; his relationship with Alina transforms him as much as it transforms her. Their connection is not just about passion but a mutual growth where love becomes a source of strength and healing. The novel also explores themes of loyalty, trust, and redemption, all wrapped in a suspenseful, fast-paced plot. The “touch her and you die” element adds thrilling stakes that keep the tension high while deepening the protective bond between the characters. Calla Soren’s writing style makes it easy to become emotionally invested, making readers eager to follow the series and discover what happens next. If you enjoy mafia romances with strong heroines and complex anti-heroes, this novel is highly recommended. I’m personally excited for the next installment to see how Alina and Rafael’s story continues to unfold.
