Me after spending 10 hours on an edit

Me after spending 10 hours on an edit only for it to get 7 likes and 2 unfollows. Drop a comment if you’re a creator who can relate 🥲

1/17 Edited to

... Read moreAs a content creator, I completely understand the emotional rollercoaster of investing hours into an edit and then seeing minimal engagement. It's easy to start questioning your skills or your content’s appeal when the likes and follower counts don’t reflect the effort you put in. In my personal experience, this pattern often happens because engagement on social platforms depends on many factors beyond just the content’s quality. Timing of the post, understanding your audience’s preferences, and even platform algorithms can significantly impact how your content is received. One technique that helped me was experimenting with different posting times to see when my audience is most active. Also, engaging with your community through comments and collaborations can boost visibility and help form a loyal following. Moreover, focusing on niches and specific themes rather than trying to appeal to everyone can improve engagement. It’s important to remember that quality content builds over time, and setbacks like a few unfollows or low likes shouldn't deter your creative spirit. Lastly, take breaks when needed and practice self-care to avoid burnout. Sometimes stepping back from the screen can give fresh perspective and lead to more inspired work. If you’re a creator who relates to spending long hours editing with limited feedback, remember that persistence and patience are key, and every creator’s journey has ups and downs.

redeeming a crappy raw photo with a dreamy edit
The lighting inside this hotel was super variable, so the RAW photo wasn't one that I was super excited about. However, after playing around with the edit settings, it actually ended up being a pretty nice hospitality photo that I feel accurately depicts how being in that space made me feel.
