We are adopted

Reflecting further on the powerful message from Galatians 4, I’ve come to appreciate how true freedom is found in embracing our spiritual adoption through Christ. Before, I often felt trapped by rules and personal failures—like a slave to my own weaknesses. But understanding that I am no longer a slave but a son—and therefore an heir of God—has reshaped my entire outlook. Living as God’s child means trusting in His promise rather than striving through fear or legalism. This adoption is not just forgiveness; it’s a transformation of identity. God’s gift of His Spirit enables us to call Him Father in a personal and intimate way. In my own journey, this has meant letting go of old habits that felt like chains and stepping into the freedom and inheritance that comes with being part of God’s family. The words from the image remind me: “Therefore, you are no longer a slave but a son. And if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.” This truth encourages me daily to reject the lies of shame and fear, and instead live boldly as a beloved child of God, empowered by His Spirit. Choosing to live in this promise has brought peace and strength even in life’s struggles. It’s a reminder that freedom is not about returning to old ways but embracing the new identity given through Christ’s love and grace.
