🏖️I WENT ON A SOLO TRIP IN PHUKET🏝️

My first “solo” trip to Phuket !

🧚🏻‍♀️Why did i go alone?

It was technically a solo trip because my parents and siblings weren’t there but I took a flight and stayed the same hotel JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa with my uncle’s family but was left to do whatever I wanted on my own. It was the first time travelling without my family and safety is always a concern, so this arrangement put my family and my love ones at ease. Also the hotel had plenty of activities that you didn’t need to venture out if you’re just going for a R&R trip!

🧚🏻‍♀️Was it worth it?

Yes, taking strolls along the beach and reading a book while listening to the crashing sounds of the waves is the most therapeutic experience I could ever dream of. It was a good break away from the stresses of climbing the academic ladder in school. The slow paced environment gave me a chance to reset and take a step back to look at my goals and thoughts from a clearer perspective. Little to no distractions helps heal your mental health so much better and of course, the ✨main character✨ energy when you start taking pics and vids of yourself without a care in the world who stares at you.

🧚🏻‍♀️Was the food good?

Hell yeah most definitely although I can’t remember which seaside restaurant I went to, but find any on google with good ✨ ratings and it’ll more or less be a 🍇 experience! If you chance upon the places I went, order what I chose and you won’t regret it 😋 Baan Ar-Jor

🧚🏻‍♀️Would I do it again? Would I recommend it?

Probably want a proper solo trip but in a further away country when I’m earning a steady salary where I don’t come back panicking if I have enough to survive 😂 But if you have the means to go anywhere on a solo trip, remember to plan well, stay safe & enjoy 🫶🏼

... Read moreWhen planning a solo trip to Phuket, I found that choosing the right accommodation really shapes the whole experience. Staying at JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa offered the best of both worlds—a safe home base with plenty of amenities that meant I didn’t have to venture far but could still enjoy variety every day. One of my favorite ways to spend time alone was exploring Kamala Beach, which is just a short distance away. Its quiet atmosphere and clean sands are ideal for solo travelers wanting to relax without crowds. For a more adventurous day, Coral Island is a fantastic spot for snorkeling and soaking in the marine life, which I highly recommend. The resort’s nightly activities, like movie nights and spa treatments, kept me entertained and refreshed. After a day in the sun, indulging in tasty dishes at local gems such as the Michelin-starred Baan Ar-Jor was a real treat. I tried their crispy fried sea mole crab and traditional Phuket sausage, which were beyond delicious. Safety was a top concern, especially when traveling alone as a female. I took basic precautions like sharing my itinerary with family and using resort transport for outings. Evenings were spent within the resort grounds where security was reassuringly visible. For solo travelers worried about loneliness, Phuket offers plenty of opportunities to meet fellow tourists during group excursions or communal dining, making it a welcoming place. The slower pace and natural beauty provide the perfect backdrop to unwind, reflect, and recharge mentally. Ultimately, my solo Phuket trip gave me confidence to explore further as an independent traveler in the future. Whether it’s beach relaxation, cultural experiences, or wellness-focused breaks you seek, Phuket’s solo travel-friendly environment makes it a wonderful destination to escape and enjoy your own company.
