𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐬

one of the grad requirement (during my time) was to clear 20cu (credit units) worth of unrestricted elective modules aka pick any modules of your choice 🙌🏼

‼️ currently, it’s 20-50cu of elective

tbh, this is my fav period of the Sem:

choosing mods that interest me 🤩

since I’m limited to only 20cus, I made sure the mods I chose were rlly what I wanted.

& here’s my pick -

1️⃣ 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐎𝐢𝐥 𝐏𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝟓𝐜𝐮)

8 lessons in NAFA & ngl I look forward to every class

it’s literally j painting and painting and painting

📝 assignments are 2 paintings that we worked it throughout the 8 lessons - easy to score A!

2️⃣ 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐏𝐬𝐲𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 (𝟓𝐜𝐮)

rlly one of my fav mod - understanding the thinking of myself & others. this mod helps me to communicate better w my partner too!

📝 assignments are creating (1) an infographic & (2) a video

3️⃣ 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐰 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐘𝐨𝐮 (𝟐.𝟓𝐜𝐮)

I j rlly like law

tbh it was overwhelming initially bcos the textbook is a law book ⁉️

but prof made understanding them easy!

📝 tedious assignment but easy to score!

4️⃣ 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 (𝟐.𝟓𝐜𝐮)

understanding the main few religions in Singapore

kinda dry tbh but interesting to learn about the history of the religions

till date, I can rmb the history 😛

📝 assignments are tough af - I scored damn badly

5️⃣ 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 (𝟓𝐜𝐮)

about the diff kind of leaders

given a second chance, I wouldn’t take this mod

📝 assignments consist of a video & paper - scored well but i dont enjoy studying this at all

At my time, these elective modules were made compulsory - ranking from our favs

✨ 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝟐.𝟓𝐜𝐮)

this mod brought me to Shenzhen

all I can rmb was my experiences there - farming, getting to know the history of the city etc

📝 assignments were pretty fun: compile our learning and experiences 100/10 recommended and would do it again 💯

✨ 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞, 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞, 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 (𝟓𝐜𝐮)

tldr, how it affects the current landscape and decisions of the government. super interesting to understand the process of major changes!

📝 group assignment was so fun! we had to create a video about an old place in Singapore (my group chose Taman Jurong) allowing us to explore the place now & then. we even manage to interview a few people who stay there since independence!

✨ 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐒𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐜 (𝟐.𝟓𝐜𝐮)

super interesting mod that talks about fake news & why people would fall for fake news/ scams etc. I enjoyed studying for this mod though I scored quite badly for it

📝 one of the assignments was to create a fake news LOL my group scored damn badly - seems like our fake news weren’t fake enough 😂

✨ 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 (𝟓𝐜𝐮)

📝 I dont rmb much other than the assignment bringing us to Rail Corridor to understand the rationale behind the decision to build it 🤣

✨ 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞 (𝟐.𝟓𝐜𝐮)

📝 I dont rmb much too, but it’s related to one of the visit in Shenzhen

we learn about globalisation, technology and advancement - how “traditional work” are affected by automation.

i only rmb learning about the companies which are unethical 🌚 honestly I dont recall much so … 🥲😅
