The RED DOT garage items (select items only) have officially dropped to 90% off today!🎉
🔴 Not all red dot items are 90% off , the red dot category is split between 70% and 90% off
• Scan everything in the DG app before checkout to confirm pricing
• Some red dot items located in the “HOME” section are still full price
⚠️ Most stores rang the garage items correctly at 90% off, however one location rang them at 50% off. If this happens, please be polite and let the associate know you’ll put the items back.
Pricing can vary by store/system.
Always scan, be kind to employees, and happy clearance hunting! 🛍️✨
Penny shopping rules:
🌟 DO NOT MAKE A MESS!!
🌟 DO NOT PLEASE DO NOT ASK EMPLOYEES where the penny items are...it's a treasure hunt, not a sale 🤌
🌟 Put everything back if items don't ring a penny. Employees have already got enough to do
... Read moreHey fellow deal-hunters! If you're anything like me, the thrill of finding a fantastic deal at Dollar General is just unbeatable. My recent trip was a huge success, landing me some amazing finds, and I'm here to spill all my secrets on maximizing your Dollar General clearance and penny item hunts. It's truly a treasure hunt, and with a few strategies, you can walk away with a basket full of bargains!
First, let's talk about those incredible 90% off clearance items. While the original post highlighted 'RED DOT' garage items, it's important to know that clearance isn't always about a single colored dot. Keep an eye out for different colored dot stickers (like yellow, blue, or green) on various products, as these often signal different stages of clearance, eventually leading to those deep discounts. I've personally found items like the "PRO ESSENTIALS HEAVY DUTY TOOLBOX," "PRO ESSENTIALS FASTENER STORAGE ORGANIZER," and even "HEAVY DUTY BUNGEE CORD SETs" for pennies on the dollar during these sales. Always, always use the DG app to scan every item you're interested in. The shelf price might not reflect the actual clearance price, and the app is your best friend for confirming those 90% off drops. I've often seen things like "PRO ESSENTIALS 4 PK INTERLOCKING FOAM FLOOR MATS" that looked regular price on the shelf, but scanned for ridiculously low amounts. Just remember, pricing can vary by store, so what rings up 90% off at one location might be less discounted at another.
Now, for the ultimate challenge: penny shopping! This is where the real thrill of the hunt comes in. Penny items are usually seasonal leftovers, discontinued products, or mis-priced items that have dropped to a single cent. Finding them is all about luck, knowledge, and a keen eye. Look for items that seem out of place for the current season, like Christmas decor in July, or old holiday-themed candies. Sometimes, specific UPCs or product lines are known to 'penny out.' My advice is to follow online couponing communities, as fellow shoppers often share lists of rumored penny items. When you're in the store, think of it as a detective mission. Explore every aisle, especially the end caps and clearance sections. I've stumbled upon unexpected penny items, like the cute "honeycomb pattern plate" or "floral pattern plate" that I saw others find, just by carefully examining older stock. Remember, the golden rule of penny shopping is never to ask employees about penny items. It's considered part of the unwritten code to respect their time and the store's process. If an item doesn't scan for a penny, politely put it back where you found it. It’s all part of the game!
To really master your Dollar General shopping, try to visit on different days of the week. Stores often reset clearance or receive new shipments at specific times, and being there shortly after can give you an advantage. And while the original article didn't mention it, sometimes you can even stack digital coupons from the DG app onto already clearanced items for even more savings – though this is rarer with 90% off and penny items. Always be kind to the employees and other shoppers; we're all just trying to score some great deals! Happy hunting, and may your baskets be full of incredible Dollar General finds!
so I am going to say something about being respectful to the employees, which I agree 100%, but lets stop for a second here and lets talk about respecting customers. I don't know where you are at, I am in Texas, and many times @ DG, DT etc. I don't get a hello, how can I help you, thank you, come back or kiss my ass, what happened to CUSTOMER SERVICE?? I have noticed that 99.9 of the employees are speaking away utilizing their ear buds, while they are stocking and at the cash register. This really irritates me and if you ask them a question, THEY DON'T KNOW OR THEY DON'T SPEAK ENGLISH, and speak another Spanish language that we don't speak or just simply don't care and they don't even attempt to get you some help, please this is America, we don't go to your country, and get a job and speak our own language. And the higher management that speak good English belittle their employees in front of customers over a simple request per the customer. Pray for me bc I am so tempted to pull their ear buds out, and embarrass the higher mgmt. for embarrassing their employees. So tell me, does this only happen in the friendly state of TEXAS...or have any of you experienced this?
