... Read moreI totally get that feeling of starting an amazing movie like Inside Out 2 and then drifting off! But believe me, even from the little I saw, this movie is already hitting home. It’s more than just a kid's film; it's a deep dive into what it means to grow up, and honestly, I can't wait to see how it all unfolds.
We all loved Joy, Sadness, Anger, Disgust, and Fear from the first movie. They felt so real and relatable, right? But now, as Riley enters her teenage years, Disney and Pixar are introducing a whole new crew, and I'm already fascinated. The movie poster clearly shows Anxiety taking center stage, and who can't relate to that overwhelming feeling in their teens? Then there's Envy, Ennui, and Embarrassment – these are such potent emotions that often pop up during adolescence. I'm especially curious about Ennui; it feels so specific to that 'meh' feeling sometimes accompanying growing pains. How will Joy, with her usual optimism, deal with the overwhelming presence of Anxiety and the often-cynical Ennui? It's going to be a rollercoaster for sure!
Thinking back to my own teenage years, these new emotions were definitely present. I remember feeling a swirl of Anxiety about school, friendships, and the future. There were moments of Envy when I saw others achieve things, and of course, plenty of Embarrassment over silly things I did or said. And Ennui? Definitely had those days where everything just felt... boring, despite so much going on around me. It’s comforting to see a movie tackle these complex feelings in such an accessible way. It helps us understand that it's okay to feel a full spectrum of emotions, even the uncomfortable ones.
This movie isn't just about entertainment; it's about validating those feelings. It helps us understand that it's okay to feel a full spectrum of emotions, even the uncomfortable ones. I'm eager to see the dynamic between the 'old' and 'new' emotions in Riley's mind. Will they clash, or will they find a way to coexist and help her navigate this new chapter? The fact that it's 'ONLY IN THEATERS JUNE 14' just makes the anticipation even greater. I've already set a reminder to go back and finish it properly this time! I hope it shows us how to embrace all parts of ourselves, the joyful and the anxious, the excited and the embarrassed. It's a journey I'm truly looking forward to completing.
