You CAN’T heal in the SAME environment ✨
I used to think healing meant learning how to be okay in the same places that hurt me.
So I stayed.
I stayed in conversations that drained me.
I stayed connected to people I had already outgrown.
I kept reopening doors that God, life, and my own intuition had been trying to close.
And every time it hurt again, I would ask myself:
“Why does this keep happening to me?”
Eventually, I had to ask a harder question…
“Why do I keep returning to what already showed me it hurts?”
Whew. 😮💨
Sometimes healing isn’t getting an apology.
Sometimes you won’t get closure.
Sometimes they’ll never understand your side of the story.
And sometimes the closure is simply realizing, “I don’t want to feel like this anymore.”
That’s enough.
You can love someone and still need distance.
You can appreciate what a chapter taught you without rereading it for the rest of your life.
You can miss what was and still know you deserve better than what it became.
And you can choose yourself without making somebody else the villain.
Some doors need to stay closed because the version of you on the other side of them deserves a chance to breathe. 🖤
So if protecting your peace makes you look different, distant, selfish, or “changed”…
Change.
Your healing deserves more loyalty than your history.
