creators are people, not reality shows
Friendly reminder: the people posting here are actual humans. Like real people, with dishes in the sink, forgotten texts that need responses, and usually an existential crisis or two on the back burner.
People create content for a whole slew of reasons, but regardless of the motive, we all share what we choose to. Social media is a snapshot, not the whole picture. Reasons vary but generally people don’t share the whole backstory of every detail - not because they’re hiding something, but because privacy isn’t a dirty word. You’re seeing curated slices, not the whole pie. And that’s okay.
It’s also okay to ask questions - that’s why comments exist and how social media works. What’s *not* okay is demanding explanation for things and pushing past boundaries because you feel entitled to the story. It’s not okay to attack people when they choose not to go into further detail. It’s not okay to be cruel.
We can connect - and on deep levels - without knowing every detail, we can cheer each other on without demanding behind the scenes footage, and we can ask questions and further conversations without belittling others.
Be kind, be curious, but don’t be entitled.
