6 Months Until “I do.” What Have We Done So Far?
Wedding planning, no lie, has been pretty stressful for me. There’s a lot more that goes into it than I thought and I should’ve known better because I’ve dreamt of my wedding day my whole life! It was easy-peasy planning my wedding with Louis Tomlinson as a teen, but now it’s the real deal.
I told myself I wouldn’t do anything at the last minute because everything books pretty quickly. My fiancé and I procrastinate really bad sometimes and I told him that this is our wedding and we need to take it seriously. So with that being said, here’s what we’ve gotten done so far!
✨Within the first few months✨
We booked the venue, bought my wedding dress, picked out people for the wedding party, picked out the color scheme, made our wedding website, and chose the color for the bridesmaid dresses!
✨Throughout spring & over the summer✨
We booked the caterer, photographer, 360 video booth, DJ, finalized the guest list (which was honestly so difficult), picked out the suits and tuxes, picked out the bridesmaid dress (but now I’m letting them pick their own), spoke to the cake baker, and blocked hotel rooms.
✨Within the last 3 months✨
We sent out the save the dates, picked out songs & music (which gets looked over every month to make changes as needed), ordered invite samples, researched honeymoon destinations (all inclusive resorts, baby!), looked at hotels for us for the night-of, researched rehearsal dinner venues, and set up the registry.
✨What we’re working on next✨
We’ll be figuring out honeymoon details and hopefully booking flights, booking the rehearsal dinner venue, hopefully receiving a quote from the florist and booking her, ordering wedding invites, researching videographers to see if one fits in the budget, and we’ll be looking at wedding rings.
Goodness, we got a lot done this year, it’s crazy to look back at it all. I’m so happy to see everything slowly coming together. Big shoutout to The Knot for having a month-by-month checklist, it’s helped me get all this done in a timely manner and it makes sure I don’t miss anything. Also shoutout to my mom-in-law who used to be an event planner so she’s been such a big help with any questions I have as well as helping with booking vendors and helping with finer details!
I literally cannot wait to walk down the aisle and get married to the love of my life!
