Think beyond just cute sleepovers and matching outfits! A ‘behavior pack’ is basically a set of actions, reactions, and story elements you can use to play out specific dynamics between your characters. And for the 'toxic bsf' theme, it’s all about those moments where your Toca pal isn't exactly being a perfect angel. It's like having a mini-script or a set of prompts to guide your imaginative play and create some really engaging stories. When I’m creating my own 'toxic bsf' scenarios, I always start with a few core behaviors to include. For instance, jealousy is a classic! Maybe your Toca character gets a super cool new pet or a fancy new room decoration, and the ‘toxic best friend’ tries to subtly (or not-so-subtly) steal it, or act super annoyed. Another great one is gossiping – perhaps they spread rumors at the Toca school or the mall, leading to some serious drama for your character. Bossiness is also a must-have; this bestie always demands the best outfits, the prime spot at the restaurant, or tries to control every activity. Or, you could have them suddenly feel left out, where the ‘toxic bsf’ ignores your main character for someone they deem ‘cooler’ or more popular. Setting the scene is super important for these stories. The Toca Boca apartment building, the bustling school, the vibrant mall, or even the vacation spots – they're all perfect backdrops for these dramas to unfold. Imagine a scene at the Toca Cafe where your 'toxic bsf' 'accidentally' spills a drink all over your character's brand-new outfit! Or a sleepover where they ‘forget’ to invite your character to a secret midnight snack raid. The possibilities are endless! Creating the actual 'pack' isn't just about the bad stuff, though! A really good 'behavior pack' also includes how your character, or other friends, react. Does your character confront the toxic bestie directly? Do they get sad and withdraw? Do they find new, supportive friends? You can even add a redemption arc if you're feeling generous, where the toxic bestie realizes their mistakes and tries to make amends! These reactions add so much depth to your story. And don't forget the Toca props and expressions! They are your secret weapons. A 'stolen' item, a 'secret note' passed in class, or even just using the character expressions to show anger, sadness, or surprise really brings the story to life. Like, when my Toca bsf was being super bossy in Pt.3 of my story, I made my character’s eyes roll, put their hands on their hips, and had them storm off – instant drama and super clear storytelling!
