Alr planning my next visit here
I’m quite sure Kokoro Cakery has been in Taman Molek for a while, but I somehow never stumbled across it before! My eye was caught by their “boozy cakes” but le’s be honest, everything looked good! I decided to takeaway a few items for my cousin and myself and they even gave us free doughnut and anko bun!
What I tried:
- rum chocolate cake: sorry, this isn’t the exact name, I just remember some chocolate cake with rum (and lotus biscuit??) but this was sooo good. Rich chocolate paired perfectly with a layer of speculoos and berry, with just the right amount of rum as an aftertaste. It’s a bit pricey at RM35/slice but I think the quality is worth it!
- matcha choux: ate this the next day so I’m in no position to comment on the puff but the matcha filling was rich and not too sweet! The matcha is clearly the star and I love it!
- rum and raisin cookie: soft crumbly cookie with rum and raisin filling - yes please! Cookie was great and I like that, again, you can taste the rum. I guess my only request would be more filling and less cookie cause sometimes the flavours from the cookie overpowers the filling
- sugar doughnut: super soft, super delicious
- anko bun: the red bean filling was slightly chunky and I appreciated it wasn’t too sweet! Bread was very soft, though not as soft as the doughnut
Overall, we really enjoyed the items here!!! I saw that they serve mains and the cafe interior looks really nice, so I’m alr planning to bring my boyfriend here next time we’re both in JB!
