Taking this Salt Lake City to Santa Fe road trip has been a personal awakening for me on multiple occasions. The drive is more than just a passage from point A to B — it’s a chance to reconnect with nature and yourself. What makes this journey especially memorable are the diverse landscapes you pass through, from the rugged beauty of Spanish Fork Canyon and Helper to the enchanting red rock formations around Moab. One of my favorite parts about this trip is witnessing the vast array of wildlife, including majestic eagles soaring above, which adds to the sense of freedom and adventure. The scenic vistas of green mountains and vivid fall foliage create a constantly changing palette that rewards you every mile. The route’s cultural significance adds a special touch too. Passing through Northern New Mexico, where the famous artist Georgia O’Keeffe found inspiration, adds a layer of artistic history to the experience. On several trips, I’ve found myself reflecting on how the landscape can heal and inspire creativity. No matter the season, the sunsets are a highlight, painting the sky in pastels or bright oranges that seem almost otherworldly. I encourage anyone living near Salt Lake City or visiting the area to take this drive, not just for the destination but for the invigorating journey itself.
