Single Diaries 💌: 17 yr old me would be proud
I feel like people always get so shocked when I tell them that I haven’t dated anyone in almost 7 years, and sometimes I even get shocked myself just because for me, it doesn’t feel like I’m necessarily missing out. I left an abusive relationship when I was 17 years old and and I vowed to take a couple of years to myself to heal and relearn who I am outside of a relationship I’d been in for years and then a couple of years turned into almost 7😅. Needless to say, I would love to start dating again, but I’m not in any rush because I’ve just fallen in love with spending time getting to know who I am and the things I love🥹 I’ve nourished my love for fashion, for content creating, I’ve traveled to so many places and I’ve went on so many adventures, and yes I could have done all this while being in a relationship, but I felt like I needed to know what it felt like to love myself all on my own, so I guess it wasn’t so bad after allðŸ˜

After a long journey of healing and self-discovery, many individuals find empowerment and growth outside of relationships. This experience can often lead to a deeper understanding of oneself, as seen in my story of not dating for almost 7 years. Engaging in activities like exploring fashion, content creation, and travel enhances personal development. This path not only nurtures one's passions but also fosters resilience and independence. Healing from past trauma is critical; finding joy in solitude allows for self-love and acceptance, which is crucial for emotional well-being. Many people, particularly those who've experienced abusive relationships, can resonate with the need for space to grow and heal before entering new relationships. As I reflect on my journey, I realize that prioritizing self-care and personal passions can lead to profound changes. Empowerment comes not only from seeking relationships but also from embracing one's individuality. This journey can serve as an inspiration for others navigating through their emotional landscapes, reminding us all that true strength lies in understanding and loving oneself first.

I can totally understand this, I feel like everyone should learn how to spend times with themselves!
