WORST IDEA TO STAY HERE IN JB!
If you have kids, avoid this stay at all cost…because.. you just might have trouble leaving 😂
This is 1 of the accommodations at Sunway GRID & we booked it via Airbnb. They have a few themes but we chose the Avengers theme room for the slide!
👍Why I like it: the slide is huge and fun, even for the adults! There’s also climbing obstacles, great for kids to drain out their energy & chill out nets for the loft. My kid had so much fun! 🤩
🛏️ Room: there were 3 beds -2 queens & 1 single. 6 seaters dining table, projector screen, microwave, stove and cooking necessities.
Facilities in condo: there were a lot of facilities but I didn’t have time to check it out. I only went to the kids playground, chill-swing, infinity pool & kids pool. The infinity pool is huge! 👍
📍Location: Near to Legoland. Away from the usual KSL / Mid Valley area. But it is near to Sunway Big Box Retail Park. They have a huge movie theatre, some shopping & food options.
Here comes the cons:
⏰ The check in time was supposed to be 3pm. We went over but the room wasn’t even ready at 3pm. So it caused us some inconvenience as we weren’t able to check in & had to make changes to our plans. 😟
🚽 There’s only 1 toilet. Imagine sharing this room with a group of friends or 2 small families.. 1 toilet is just inconvenient.
📍Another con is the location. It is a bit far out from the places we usually go in JB - e.g Mount Austin, Mid Valley Southkey or KSL. Highly recommend booking this stay if you are visiting Legoland.

If you're planning a family trip to Johor Bahru and want to keep your kids excited, the Sunway GRID Airbnb with a slide is a fantastic choice. Beyond just the fun slide inside the room, the condo offers climbing obstacles and chill-out nets in the loft, giving children many ways to use their energy creatively. My child especially loved the playground and the chill-swing in the complex. For those curious about the facilities, the infinity pool is truly impressive – large enough to swim comfortably and perfect for both adults and kids. Although I couldn't explore all amenities during my stay, I can say the access to nearby Sunway Big Box Retail Park is a big plus, offering shopping, dining, and a large movie theatre, making it convenient if you want to venture out without the usual JB traffic. However, do keep in mind that the location is a bit far from popular JB spots like Mount Austin or Mid Valley Southkey, so it's best suited if you plan your trip around Legoland visits. Also, since there’s only one bathroom in the suite, it might be less convenient for bigger groups or multiple families. It’s definitely worth considering the size of your group before booking. I also recommend planning your arrival with some flexibility as check-in might be delayed, which affected our schedule slightly. Overall, if your kids love playful, themed stays and you appreciate easy access to Legoland plus shopping and entertainment, this staycation spot at Sunway GRID is a memorable choice in JB.
