Remembering Why I Left

This is just the tip of the iceberg…as much as it hurts to read these because of course they are the exact opposite of the love bombing messages that come afterwards, I keep them to remind myself exactly why I left. I have NEVER cheated, been close to cheating or been caught talking to someone else (he has though) and these are the messages I get when I finally set my boundaries. You will NOT have unlimited access to me any longer to threaten, accuse or try to tear down my self esteem. I DESERVE BETTER THAN THIS. I am by no means perfect but I am a good woman and good person who deserves basic love and respect from the person claiming to love me. It took me some time to get here, but I finally value myself over the opinions and need for acceptance from others. I AM WORTHY OF A HEALTHY, SOFT LOVE and freeing myself from this emotional abuse is bringing me one step closer to the life I want and deserve. I am so tired of allowing other people to control my self image. Especially people that were never worthy of my attention in the first place. I know it may not always be easy, but this shit WILL be worth it. Because I am already getting happier every single day I am away from this toxic demon of a person. CHOOSE YOURSELF FIRST MY FRIENDS!!!!!!!! YOU DESERVE THE SAME LOVE AND EFFORT YOU GIVE OUT!!!!! #vulnerability #mentalhealthawareness #toxicrelationshipsurvivor #toxicpeople #vulnerabilityisstrength

... Read moreLeaving a toxic relationship can be one of the most difficult yet necessary decisions you make for your well-being. Emotional abuse often manifests subtly, making it hard to recognize its impact. It can lead to low self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. The journey of self-discovery begins when you realize that you deserve respect and love that align with your values. Engaging with supportive communities, whether online or in-person, can facilitate healing as they offer wisdom and encouragement for those facing similar struggles. Survivors of emotional abuse often report feeling liberated after prioritizing their own needs and establishing personal boundaries. This can include limiting contact with toxic individuals, practicing self-care routines, and openly expressing feelings without fear of retaliation. Tools like journaling or therapy can also aid in processing emotions and experiences, fostering personal growth. Remember that regaining your strength is a process, and small victories should be celebrated. As you navigate through this transformative journey, share your story with others, as vulnerability can empower both you and your audience. By highlighting your experiences, you may inspire someone else to take the first step toward a healthier, happier life.

✨ I was in the best relationship I’ve ever had in my life. I loved that man. Deeply. He was a good man Savannah, he was a good man. He did everything “right” on paper: he respected me, showed up, spent time, knew my love language, did what a boyfriend is supposed to do physically and logistically.

To be completely honest, Lemon8 was another social media app on my phone. I didn’t understand why I had it. Life got busy, I didn’t have time to post, and a lot of the people I connected with left the app so I did too. What I didn’t realize (and why I came back) is that this was my crea
