Trust Wallet users through Chrome have stolen money.

Trust Wallet users through Chrome were stolen $8.5 million in venture capital.

One of the most popular hacker attacks in modern times will not escape supply chain attacks or Supply Chain Attacks by embedding malware in any part of the Supply Chain, such as hardware or applications, to carry malware into the victim's system or to intermediate other operations. This is another example of this kind of attack.

According to a report by the website, The Hacker News has mentioned the detection of a Supply Chain Attacks called Shai-Hulud (or Sha1-Hulud) with the hacking of an extension of the Google Chrome web browser called Trust Wallet, an extension that serves as a popular Krypto Currency wallet, which hacking took place during November 2025. In the past 2025, the hackers behind the campaign were able to sweep up to $8,500,000 from this attack from more than 2,520 victims' pockets to 17 hackers' pockets.

In this attack, the developers of Trust Wallet said that hackers can hack the secret code for developers on Github or Developer Github Secrets, allowing hackers to access the source code of the Trust Wallet add-on, as well as the Chrome Web Store (CWS) API key, allowing hackers to upload a malware add-on to the Chrome Web Store instead of the real add-on. In this attack, hackers created a domain called "metrics-trustwallet [.com]" and embed tools to the back door of the system or the backdoor. In this drugged add-on, this tool will send the mnemonic Phrases back to the domain called "api.metrics-trustwallet [.] com." Hackers can eventually steal the victim's Krypto bag for themselves.

A research team from Koi Security, a cybersecurity expert, also said about the add-on: The stolen items include not only Seed Phrases, but also passwords and biometrics. Seed Phrases are packaged in an errorMessage field that stores errors during unlocking. Analysis of the data to find the wrong points may overlook this point.

In an in-depth investigation, the "metrics-trustwallet [.com]" domain, when converted to an IP number, came out as "138.124.70.40." This number shows that the domain is hosted on the hosting service of Stark Industries Solutions, a Bulletproof Hosting Service Provider registered in the United Kingdom. The service has a history of assisting cyberterrorism activities by the Russian government.

As a result of this incident, Trust Wallet has notified those who use the Trust Wallet add-on on Chrome to update version 2.69 urgently to replace the hacked version 2.68. In the Restriction Claim process, victims can file directly with the developer. The compensation is case-by-case to distinguish between the real victim and the rich victim.
