Cheat Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins

I may have accidentally created my new favorite muffin hack… 😂🍌🍫

I had a box of yellow cake mix sitting in the pantry and 2 ripe bananas, so I decided to experiment and turn it into banana chocolate chip muffins!

And honestly? They turned out SO good. 🧁✨

🍌 What I used:

• 1 box yellow cake mix

• 2 mashed bananas

• Semi-sweet chocolate chips 🍫

• The eggs, oil & water called for on the cake mix box

• About 1 cup flour to thicken the batter and give it that classic muffin texture

• 1 tablespoon vanilla (optional, but I think this made a BIG difference!)

I mixed everything together, added the extra flour until the batter had a nice thick muffin-batter consistency, then folded in the chocolate chips.

Filled my muffin cups about ¾ full and baked them at 375°F for about 18–22 minutes, until they were golden and a toothpick came out clean.

✨ My favorite little trick:

Save some chocolate chips for the tops before baking! It gives them that bakery-style look. 😍

And that tablespoon of vanilla? Highly recommend. I feel like it helped give these much more of a muffin flavor instead of tasting like straight yellow cake.

Sometimes the best recipes happen when you're just standing in the kitchen thinking:

"I have these ingredients… let's see what happens." 😂

🍌 + 🍫 + a little kitchen experimentation = SOFT, EASY BANANA CHOCOLATE CHIP MUFFINS!
