3 tips to reach daily fiber goal

Fiber is essential to gut health!! The daily recommended amount is 25-30g. The average American barely gets half of that!!

So here are some tips to help out 🥹

1. eat chia seeds for breakfast! Make chia pudding or add them to smoothies for an easy, high fiber breakfast.

2. eat avocados! They contain 30% of your daily fiber intake! Add avocados to salads, toast, bowls, or make guacamole!🥑

3. make sure you’re having a veggie with lunch & dinner!🥬🥦 the fiber adds up quick!

Hope this helps!!

... Read moreIt’s amazing how many of us struggle to hit our daily fiber target, especially for women where the recommendation is often around 25-30g. I know I used to! But once I understood what 30g of fiber actually looks like in terms of food, it became much easier. It's not just about gut health, which is huge, but also about feeling full, balancing blood sugar, and boosting overall well-being. If you're wondering how to weave more fiber into your day, let me walk you through some practical examples from my own routine. My morning usually kicks off with a delicious and incredibly filling chia seed pudding. This is a superstar for fiber! A standard serving of chia seeds alone can give you around 10 grams, and it's so versatile. I often layer mine with fresh raspberries, which pack an amazing 8 grams of fiber per cup, a few slices of a juicy peach for another 2 grams, and a sprinkle of pumpkin seeds, adding about 1 gram. Just from breakfast, I’m already well on my way, often hitting over 20 grams of fiber before noon! It’s a simple overnight prep that makes healthy eating effortless. For lunch, I love creating hearty and colorful bowls. One of my frequent go-to meals features a base of quinoa, which is fantastic and delivers about 5 grams of fiber per serving. I mix in a generous handful of fresh arugula, adding a little under 1 gram but a lot of flavor, and vibrant bell peppers, which contribute another small but mighty <1 gram. Sometimes I'll throw in some chickpeas or lentils for an extra boost. It’s truly amazing how quickly these flavorful additions stack up, making sure my mid-day meal is not only satisfying but also fiber-rich. Dinner is another prime opportunity to load up on those essential fibers. I usually build my plate around a variety of roasted or steamed vegetables. Think sweet potato, which offers a good 3 grams of fiber, along with fluffy cauliflower rice for 2 grams, and nutrient-dense broccoli, adding another 2 grams. And, of course, I can’t forget my absolute favorite: avocado! A healthy serving of avocado in a salad or as a side provides a generous 5 grams of fiber. When you combine these ingredients, you can easily add another 10-15 grams to your daily total without even trying too hard. Beyond the main meals, I keep fiber-rich snacks handy. Apples with peanut butter, a handful of almonds, or even a small bowl of berries can effortlessly push you closer to that 30g mark. It might seem like a big number at first, but by focusing on incorporating these high-fiber foods into each meal, hitting that 25-30g goal really does become second nature. It’s not just about counting grams; it’s about making smart, delicious choices that nourish your gut and make you feel fantastic all day long!
