Read moreMaintaining a balanced skincare routine for oily skin can be a game changer, and I’ve personally found that focusing on hydration and targeted ingredients rather than harsh stripping products really helps keep my skin clear and glowing. For example, incorporating a charcoal clay cleanser daily provides a deep pore detox without overdrying, which is essential to controlling shine and preventing breakouts. Using a raspberry cleanser with glycolic and salicylic acids really helps gently exfoliate and refresh the skin, smoothing out texture and clarifying pores.
One of my favorite steps is the retinol 2% exfoliating scrub/mask. Retinol not only helps refine the skin by removing dead cells but also minimizes pore appearance and evens out complexion over time. It’s important to introduce retinol gradually and pair it with hydrating steps to avoid irritation. Following this with a mint refining toner enriched with aloe and witch hazel supports balancing oil production and soothing any redness or irritation.
I can’t overemphasize the importance of hydration even for oily skin. Lightweight moisturizers like ones with aloe, jojoba, and hyaluronic acid deliver moisture without clogging pores or leaving a greasy feeling. This protects the skin barrier while reducing excess oil buildup. Lastly, targeted eye serums with peptides and lactic acid brighten and hydrate the delicate under-eye area, which is often neglected.
Having professional-grade products tailored to oily and acne-prone skin, combined with customized facial treatments, can accelerate results. If you’re struggling with excess oil, congested pores, or breakouts, building a routine that emphasizes detoxification, gentle exfoliation, status balancing, and hydration is key. Throughout my esthetician journey, I’ve learned that oily skin care isn’t about aggressive stripping but smart layering and consistent care. Don’t hesitate to reach out for personalized recommendations or appointments to start your own balanced skincare journey.
