Japanese Inspired Cafe @ Upper Thomson!
“Hello Arigato” is a Japanese inspired cafe that believes that eveything starts with a ‘Hello’ and I am here for that.
First thoughts on the cafe - really pretty and it feels cosy because of its rustic japandi vibes! But let me put it out here right at the start, it is very echoey and it can get market noisy if there’s a sizable crowd dining in. So, not a conduscive space if you’re looking to get work done or have a private conversation (tables are way too close too!).
We were there late afternoon and the kitchen was close so if you’re wanting a late lunch, you won’t find any food here but if sweets are your thing - they got you!
Sticky Mate | $11
It’s very similar to a cinimon roll but in a bun form, slightly crispy on the outside and a little dense on the inside. Topped with ice cream and caramel sauce.
It was an overload of sugar for me, and could not stomach it down after 2-3 bites as everything was way too sweet.
As for drinks Iced Dirty Marcha ($8) and Iced Latte ($6.50), taste like your typical cafe coffee which wasn’t bad.
Overall, a pleasant experience but we will be back to try out the food as we heard great things about it!
