Making my dangle earrings stretched ear friendly

I literally did this to all my dangle earrings in 20mins!

I got a pack of 60 gold and silver hoop hooks off Amazon and I had a bunch left over!

I highly recommend doing this if you have stretched ears! It's so much more comfortable than sliding the hooks between your lobe and tunnel or plugs.

When I got these new earrings yesterday I decided it was time to do this after putting it off for so long.

Don't get rid of those old earrings just make them work for you! diy or die witches!

For years, I avoided so many beautiful pairs because trying to squeeze a regular earring hook through my tunnels or plugs was uncomfortable, sometimes painful, and honestly, a bit risky for my lobes. I even worried about damaging my tunnels or having earrings fall out! That's why I'm so excited to share this game-changing DIY solution that has made my entire dangle earring collection accessible and comfortable. The core of this hack is swapping out those standard, thin earring hooks for larger, more stretched-ear-friendly hoop hooks. The original article mentions finding packs of gold and silver hoop hooks, and I can attest that they are super affordable and easy to find online, often on sites like Amazon. Don't be afraid to experiment with different sizes to see what best fits your gauge and earring design. Here’s a simple guide to making your dangle earrings stretched-ear friendly: Gather Your Tools & Materials: You'll need your dangle earrings, a selection of hoop hooks (like those gold or silver ones), and a pair of small jewelry pliers. Sometimes, like with delicate pieces or if the original loop is tiny, you might also want some small jump rings (I've found Beebeecraft jump rings are good quality) to connect the earring to the new hoop hook more securely. Inspect Your Earrings: Look at how the existing dangle earring charm is attached to its original hook. Most commonly, it's just a small loop or jump ring. Pieces like those with bone and crescent moon charms or a unique knife-shaped dangle are perfect for this modification. Remove the Old Hook: Using your pliers, gently open the loop of the original earring hook. Slide the dangle charm off. Be careful not to damage the charm itself. Attach the New Hoop Hook: Now, take one of your new hoop hooks. Open the loop on the hoop hook just enough to slide your dangle charm onto it. If the charm's loop is too small or you want more flexibility, you can first attach a small jump ring to the charm, and then attach the jump ring to the hoop hook. Secure the Hoop Hook: Once the dangle charm is on the hoop hook, use your pliers to carefully close the hoop hook's loop, ensuring it's completely secure. You don't want your beautiful modified earring falling off! That's it! In literally minutes, you can transform a whole batch of earrings. I did this with so many of my favorite pieces, and it felt amazing to finally wear them without discomfort. No more sliding thin hooks between my lobe and tunnel, which always felt awkward and precarious. Now, I simply slide the hoop hook directly through my tunnel or plug, and it sits perfectly and comfortably. This DIY not only saves money by repurposing old earrings but also opens up a whole new world of style possibilities for those of us with stretched ears or gauges. It's a game-changer for wearing dangle earrings with confidence!
