石和温泉って「旅館でゆっくり」なイメージが強いけど、実は“ちょこっと食べ歩き”もできるのが良かったです。私が行った時は、石和温泉駅周辺〜温泉街にかけて、和菓子やスイーツ、軽食を買えるお店が点在していて、チェックイン前後の短い時間でも楽しめました。 食べ歩きのコツは、時間帯をずらすこと。到着してすぐは旅館の夕食まで余裕があるので、軽めに「甘いもの」中心でつまむのがちょうどいいです。逆にチェックアウト後は、お腹が満たされていることが多いので、持ち帰りできるお土産系（お菓子・地元の名産）を見て回ると無理なく回れました。徒歩移動なら、温泉街の足湯スポットを見つけたら立ち寄って小休憩するのもおすすめです。 もう一つ気になるのが「石和温泉 露天風呂」目当てで探す人向けポイント。糸柳は“露天風呂付き客室”と書かれていても、実際は露天ではなく（屋外ではなく）掛け流しタイプの部屋風呂の場合があるので、予約前に「露天風呂（屋外）」か「内風呂（温泉）」かは要チェックだと思いました。とはいえ、部屋で好きなタイミングで温泉に入れるのは本当に最高で、子連れだと特に助かります。 貸切温泉も、家族で周りを気にせず入れるのが嬉しいところ。スマホで空き時間を見ながら予約できる形式だと、子どもの眠い・お腹すいたのタイミングに合わせやすくて、結果的に温泉の満足度が上がりました。夜は貸切→足湯→休憩、みたいに“温泉をはしご”しても、体が冷えにくいのが温泉地の良さ。 食べ歩きも露天風呂もどっちも楽しみたいなら、当日は「夕食前の散歩」「夜は貸切温泉」「朝は大浴場 or 部屋風呂」みたいに予定をざっくり分けておくと、バタバタせず満喫できました。
