I know, letting go is hard. Especially when you really like someone.
When we are facing this hard time in our life, we normally can’t see the good and bad things around the situation.
Sometimes letting go of someone means freedom, peace. Of course we think the world is ending, because we create routine, we get used to the people around us and we don’t want to start over.
I can be a relationship or a friendship, sometimes the best option is to let go.
When I was 18 I faced a terrible breakup. I was devastated, because that was my whole world. I had plans for years, I visualized we getting married, having kids and all that stuffs.
But I could see how much he pulled me back. Was easy to let go of my dreams than letting him go.
Today I understand that the best decision was detach from him.
I understood life was redirecting me to something way bigger and better. And today, I’m happy!
... Read moreHey everyone! 👋 Building on my earlier post about finding peace through detachment, I wanted to dive a bit deeper into how we can actually achieve this, especially when it feels impossible. When I was going through my own tough breakup, the idea of emotional detachment seemed cold. But I quickly learned it's not about indifference; it's about reclaiming your power and maintaining your inner peace.
One of the biggest lessons I learned, and something I saw in an image that really stuck with me, is to FOCUS ONLY WHAT YOU CAN CONTROL. This was a game-changer. So often, we get caught up trying to change others or situations that are completely out of our hands. My ex's actions, for instance, were never mine to control. What I could control was my reaction, my thoughts, and my own path forward. This realization is where emotional detachment strength truly begins.
Another powerful shift came from understanding that SOME PEOPLE ARE ONLY MEANT TO HELP YOU GROW, NOT TO BE IN YOUR LIFE FOREVER. This isn't a harsh truth; it's a liberating one. It allows us to appreciate the role someone played without clinging to a future that isn't meant to be. Part of the art of detachment is accepting this natural flow of relationships. It enables you to LET PEOPLE BE WHO THEY WANT TO BE without it disrupting your own serenity. It's about setting healthy boundaries for your well-being.
Detachment isn't just about external relationships; it's also about detaching from unhelpful thoughts and expectations. I found it crucial to IDENTIFY AND CHALLENGE ANY NEGATIVE THOUGHTS that crept in. Was I really “losing everything,” or was I being redirected to something better, as my journey proved? Questioning those deep-seated beliefs is a vital step. And remember, LETTING GO' is about self-control, not indifference. It means choosing peace for yourself, even when it's hard.
Learning to detach also helped me understand the '15 things you can't control in life' much better. You can't control other people's opinions, their feelings, or their choices. You can't control the past or the future. But you can control how you respond to these things. By shifting my focus, I started to gain a profound sense of calmness and order, replacing the stagnation I felt before. This is where peace over attachment truly thrives.
The journey to peace comes after detachment, but it's a process of self-discovery and resilience. Trust the process, be kind to yourself, and remember that this strength you're building is for *you*. It's about finding yourself again and creating a life that truly aligns with your inner peace. You've got this! ✨
I have learned that some people and things are in your life for a reason while some are there for a season.
