🌟apps for the book baddies🌟

befreed: the easiest way to read books, because there is no extra information, there are plenty of books to choose from, and i can read multiple books a week. my favorite feature are:

-20 minute podcasts

-30 minute deep dives

-flashcards (my personal favorite).

elevate: a daily app that reminds me to elevate parts of my brain like memory, quick thinking, critical analysis, and more.

edx: the free way to take classes online. chose from ivy-league level classes, to state school curriculums, and in between, and learn just about anything you want.

... Read moreOkay, so I've been getting a lot of questions about Befreed since I mentioned it, and honestly, it's been a game-changer for my personal learning journey! When I first heard about an app that could condense over 10k books into digestible formats, I was a bit skeptical. But after trying it, I totally get why it's become my go-to for staying informed and ahead. What I love most is how incredibly versatile it is. You don't just get basic summaries; you get a range of options tailored to how you want to learn. There are 20-minute author-style narrations for a quick but comprehensive overview, 30-minute deep dives when I want to explore a topic more thoroughly, and my absolute favorite, *10-minute flashcards*. These aren't just bland bullet points; they're designed to help you actively recall information, which is key for actually retaining what you learn for the long term. I've personally seen my 7-day streak grow consistently, and I've already finished 14 books just by fitting these short, focused sessions into my busy day. It truly feels like I'm saving hours while still absorbing valuable knowledge. My personal dashboard even shows I've accumulated 83 minutes of learning time recently, which is fantastic progress without feeling overwhelmed. One feature that really blew me away, which I initially overlooked, is the *personalized book recommendation*. It's not just a generic list; the app actually suggests books based on my interests and past reads, showing me a *personality fit percentage*. It's helped me discover incredible titles like 'Your Strategy Needs a Strategy' that I might never have picked up otherwise. And for those moments when I have a specific question, the newer chat interface where you can interact with a book is incredible. I can ask specific questions like 'How should I approach early wins in a new role?' and get instant, relevant advice drawn directly from the book's insights. It’s like having a knowledgeable mentor accessible 24/7! For anyone wondering if Befreed is worth it, especially if you're like me and juggle a busy academic or professional schedule, it's fantastic. It’s perfect for those commutes, waiting in line, or even just during a quick coffee break. Instead of mindlessly scrolling, I can grab 'Flash 16 insights' from a complex book like 'Algorithms to Live By' and genuinely feel productive. It really complements other learning tools too. While apps like Elevate keep my memory sharp and edX offers structured courses, Befreed fills that crucial gap for continuous, accessible learning from a vast library of knowledge. It’s about leveraging technology to make reading and learning less daunting and more seamlessly integrated into daily life. If you're serious about expanding your knowledge and becoming a more efficient 'book baddie' without sacrificing all your free time, you absolutely need to give Befreed a try. It's truly transformed how I approach learning!
