From Cusco, the journey to Machu Picchu via Aguas Calientes sounds equally enchanting. The train ride itself is an experience, offering stunning views of the Sacred Valley. Aguas Calientes, the town at the base of Machu Picchu, is a vibrant hub where everyone's buzzing with anticipation for the main event. I've heard it's smart to stay overnight to catch the sunrise at Machu Picchu – a truly magical way to experience one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. The energy there is just incomparable. One 'fact about Peru' that always amazes me is the precision of Inca engineering at Machu Picchu; how they built such an advanced city without mortar, high in the mountains, remains an architectural marvel. Beyond the iconic ruins, I'm also eyeing an optional hike to Rainbow Mountain. The photos look absolutely breathtaking with its vibrant mineral-striped peaks. Another thing I've learned is how incredibly diverse Peru's landscapes are, from the Andes mountains to the Amazon rainforest and the coastal deserts. That's why embarking on a well-organized trip, especially a group trip, seems like the perfect solution.
