Constantly living in fight or flight. Constantly worrying about my child’s safety. Constantly worried about if today will be a “good day”. Someone please tell me it gets easier.

#dvawareness

8/12 Edited to

... Read moreLiving in a state of constant fight or flight can be incredibly exhausting, both mentally and physically. From personal experience, this overwhelming anxiety often stems from past trauma or the ongoing fear of unpredictable situations. Many days feel like walking on eggshells, constantly asking yourself, "Will today be a good day?" It helps to remember that healing is a gradual process, and it’s okay to seek support along the way. One way I found some relief was by connecting with communities focused on domestic violence awareness and healing. Sharing experiences with others who understand the daily struggle can provide comfort and reduce feelings of isolation. Additionally, practical actions like mindfulness exercises, creating a safe space at home, and having an emergency plan can help regain a sense of control. The phrases in the image, such as "might be alone half the time but at least this isn't my life anymore," speak volumes about the journey from fear to safety. It’s a powerful reminder that while current days might be hard, there is hope for better ones. If you or someone you know is living in fear, remember that reaching out for professional help is a strong and crucial step toward healing.

Why a cluttered home ≠ a lived in home
In my podcast, I touch on how people in my comments were so eager to hold onto their clutter after I made a video about how clutter can ease the mind. It showed me how clear it is that people equaled a lived, and home to a cluttered home and I needed to make sure I cleared up that inconsistency. Li
